@malows1234 or PTA. but i'd say Nolan has really achieved something great now. he's at the top of the mountain. or Hollywood. he's the Spielberg or the Lucas of the 70s and 80s. he's totally in control of the biggest blockbuster films out there.
PTA or Scorsese or Kubrick is i think in a different field.
@godfatherofwiseguys i agree that PTA is the best working director, i mean better than nolan and aronofsky, thats just the pure sheer truth. lol you say nolan is like spielberg/lucas, i think it more of an insult. no hatred agianst them, but let me put it this way. go back and watch the godfather/raging bull and then go watch star wars and ET. godfather and raging bull still seem pro after 40 years. ET and star wars feel cheesy as fuck. thats where nolan is headed if he keeps making blockbusters
@malows1234 yeah i agree. i saw Star Wars and ET just this past few years, and it didn't do anything to me. the film has aged. maybe not to people who adores it when they were kids, but to the new generation, it doesn't do anything to them. unlike films that you say, the godfather and raging bull. still great films no matter what the time is.
but i don't think that will happen to Nolan. for one, his films has this smartness in them that will stand the test of time. time will tell
@godfatherofwiseguys personally speaking, his films like memento will keep its genius forever, but i am talking about his films like inception and dark knight, and the batman3(someone as talented as him shouldn't be making comic book movies. i love dark knight but you know all the cool lines now, will not be so cool in 10 years (the knight is darkest just before the dawn. and inception especially, a lot of my friends thought it was greatest when they first saw it. but now they dont think that.
When he looks down he could easily be Leo Dicaprio's brother.
