Hi,

I seem to have a problem with saving my game... I have no idea why either, just when I go to save my game it shows it's saving for a few minutes then it crashes back to my desktop on my Mac. Rarely...Rarely does it not crash. Please HELP!!! (Don't know if this would help but i have all expansion packs and only one stuff pack- highend loft.)

I stopped playing my Sim game for 3 months because it kept crashing to desktop

Finally, FINALLY my game works without crashing. I've downloaded the latest patch 1.22 & my game started crashing within 2 minutes & I only have the BASE GAME. Then I tried this & viola ! No more crashing! Thank you a billion times. Now I'm going to try to install my Late Night & see if it still crashes. I haven't tried it with custom content yet

not all CCs cause crashes....only those who make major changes on how the game works (such as awesome mod, no bus, no run, etc)...object cc doesnt really do any damage unless the file is corrupt....

if your PC is on winXP and the game crashes ONLY when you started to play on a household,....better check my vid...hope it helps,

my game crashes on the loading screen after selecting the village, its the same point every time and its been doing it for a while. I tried reinstalling the game and I deleted all of my custom content. I also checked my specs on the ea website (It scanned my computer) and my computer meets all the requirements, can anyone help??

@LilMissHannah100 computer specs is not much of an issue on sims 3, my friends can even play it without crashing once using only a low spec laptop....probably you got a fake copy or a corrupt copy of the game.....

my laptop crashed, files were deleted, everything was gone when i downloaded the game in those few months..i use windows....so..i reccomend being cautious with the game when on laptops.

You may also try to add TS3.exe to the DEP exemption list. If your game quits to the desktop for no reason, it might be also due to a memory address problem within the game binary, or something like that. I ran into that problem when I patched the game to 1.12 and used the crack from Vitality.

it still dosent work. whenever i go choose a household after 5 seconds of being in play mode it crashes to the desktop

Slution: (1) Get more RAM. 2GB isn't enough, you need about 4GB to build super big houses without crashing (I can testify because I upgraded from 2 to 4GB). (2) Next, patch your Sims 3 app file using the 4GB patch if you using 64-bit Win. An additional step is needed for 32-bit Win. Just google "4GB patch" for more information both systems. (3) Finally, enjoy! If you are still getting crashes, zoom out when you are saving games (I got none after (1) and (2) ).

I am having a wierd glich with my Sims 3 version. I have Ambitions installed, after trying to get the latest patch, it had some troubles installing. After it finally did, I tried loading up the game and the launcher said I had game version 0.0.0.00. Anything to fix that? (btw, some custom content is in the game, no mods)

great, i did all of it, but i right clicked the wrong thing at 2:22 when it said "run as administrator." i right clicked the one that made the icon for the shortcut. now all of it is erased, that was 17 generations i made with the Sims 3. it's not your fault, it was mine, i am pissed at myself now. ="(

Maybe its the Actual Game its self .. have you downloaded any patches lately?

It Could Even be Uncompatible Custom Content

Try Un-installing your mods, then run the game ... then see if i can help you from there = ]

Cap your card at 60 FPS or it will just let your card over work. When this was told to me I checked my FPS in game and I was over 300. Download Riva Tuner /w Statistics Server and D3D9 Overrider run them and you will cap out at 60 FPS and it will show you your fps in game.

Okay so now everything is fine Sims 3 is running but I cant get my mods to work :( I had them long ago on Sims 3 but now idk how lol. I uninstalled and re installed and I didnt do update everything went perfect. till I triedp putting mods on Local Disc/Program Fiels/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods/Packages I put in there the 2 Monkey Files n I put the resource.cfg outside on EA/Sims3 and then Im going to test it it says Error With Launcher so yeah :(((

Im using CD. I got my Sims 3 to work but when I go into load game the loading stays sitting there at the end. Im gonna save all my mods file and uninstall then re install. And im Prolly never gonna download an update lol.

It says that you have mods blah blah then Quit or Continue I hit continure it crashes. My PC runed Sims 3 Perfectly damn you EA. Any tips? Saw some ppl at Sims3 .com with same problem. :( PLZ! I dont wanna give up on Sims.

Have you tried Uninstalling and re-installing.. then trying this method?.. the mods are fine in the Game, Just You Have to be careful with The patches because they can cause all sorts of problems with your Game.. Also with some Hacks/Mods .. can also effect your game, i downloaded the Teen pregnancy Hack for my game a while ago an wasnt compatible with the version i was using and that crashed my game...

@seanMB88 bin is most likely a hidden file. try enabling hidden files. google how to enable hidden files

Ok, I'll see what I can do because I ran on WINDOWS 7 professional & both World Adventures & High end loft stuff pack and I've got always got an Error 13 sometimes.

I Did this too with hopes itd work but not for me. I got about 1/2 hour game play then bam back to desktop. But I didn't change graphics settings. I think its stupid you have to change graphics settings - if they are meant to be high quality and a high end machine why the screw ups?

@rhiannon650 Did you have an Antivirus Running at the same time, if so which Antivirus, Antivirus software can make your Game crash, i don't no why but i experience a lot of crashing when my game is running an my antivirus is running at the game time, exit the antivirus software and run how it's showed to be run in the video if you want the game to be played also....

I think it screws up because Sims 3 is such a big game even for High end machines, you don't have to change all your graphic settings. the point i was trying to make in the video is that it would help your pc render the graphics better which would mean better game play and less crashing, this is optional but really helps, i didnt want to tune down mine but i only tuned it down a bit so it wouldnt of been a massive difference
