The tune at 5.45 is Magic Feet by Mike Dunn, the soundtrack to the video was done by Harvey. Had a ball at this rave, remember it making the cover of the Sun on the Monday. The two promotors spent a week inside for putting it on. MC Kinky (allegedly) dropped her first e at this rave.... Oh memories. A few old friends are in this clip but apart from one of them I have no idea what's become of them.

The year I nearly screwed up my 3rd yr at uni due to the rave scene!! 2 weeks before in Energy, Guildford and then Blast off.. was it a Batman or a Joker? - cant remember. That's our crowd (from Thame) near the front of the Q at 4:35, hello to any of them that reads this.

Great comment Gary, and yeah I will post up some more chapters and the DVD will be available at some point in the near future. I have mapped the location of the rave on Google earth, the clues to the location are in the clips.
Yep the rest is coming, it is going to be well worth the wait, Chapters 4-6 are concentrated acid. The old bill were particularly pissed off by this party, I heard a rumour that the promoter actually did a stint inside because of it! harsh.
That was reality of it though, you could end on the front page of news of the world with a headline like " Acid Rave invasion!I I like how passive they all are, waiting patiently or is something else kicking in....................
I know! how neurotic were the older generation over it all acting as if we had all become possessed or something-it was the best time of my life and we never hurt anyone not like some of todays kids-we might have taken a few chems but I dont remember any hostility-oops maybe that was cos of the chems, still we were a cool generation ,the generations as Ive grown older havent come up with anything near it-I feel sorry for them they missed the best time!
The idea behind the re-release of Blastoff is to try let people know about the real spirit of Acid House and what a fantastic vibe it should be. In the next chapters the party and dancing kicks in and I am hoping these will communicate the vibes. Chapters 1 & 2 are build ups, 4-6 are where the action is!
Ay yes they new how to throw a decent party back in the 80's. Great organisation, friendly crowd and a massive sound system, not forgetting the lasers! Outside to boot, this would not happen now.
Blastoff Chapter Two of six, "The Bluff" this chapter illustrates the stand off between the old bill and the party organisers legal team. Luckily the the ravers stand patiently knowing full well a mighty rave is imminent.
ha,ha, right on my doorstep back then, was on the other side of london that night at a rave.
