wow thats the uss harry s. truman, and the plane that landed was from VAQ-130, even though the landing was cool the tomcats just sitting there was cooler
the landing wire you're talking about is called arresting gear...it stops the aircraft more quicker when it lands..i believe the EA6 prowlers are being phased out..
don't forget there is the landing wire wich stops the plane....obviouslly those pilots have extreme skills but the landing on a carrier is minor comparing to other stuff they are doing.
Yes it does take Extreme skill to land a plane on a Carrier Traveling at what ever knots they travel... they are trying to land a Jet on a moving Object! and it's even more difficult at night... it's not like they have LONG run ways... it takes a lot of practice for these pilots to be able to do it..
Unless your pushing Cable!! LOL

The most difficultt flying task in the world is a night time carrier landing. Takes enormous skill (day or night).

It wouldn't require extreme skill. How else do you expect them to land. I am in the Royal Marines and I know from friends that it is easy to do.

That would require extreme skill!!....And it would be very frightening!...lol....but not nearly as frightning as having an enemy on your tail!
