Supercharger on S2000 is perfect. Doesn't fuck with reliability. Is enough power for street use, the power to weight is even better. On a 2800lb car, its enough. Its better power to weight than a Porsche Carrera S I tested.
REDO AT A STRAIGHT LINE. i wanna see. its so rare to have 2 s2k race at the same tuned level but 1 turbo and 1 is charged. verrry nice n interesting shit
Gonna chalk it up to the fallacy of a centrifugal compressor linked to the RPM speed of an engine. Other then packagaing, never saw the intrigue in the centrifugal supercharger. GT35 gonna give you same compressor characteristics, but the shaft speed will be free to spool up much quicker assuming the turbine has the required energy, which obviosiouly it did.
@xxnissansilviaxx they both put a load on the engine. supercharger might a little more if they are making the same power just because its attatched to it but not by much at all. that all depends on the boost your bunning and how good of a tune you have,
@the80h Superchargers hog power right from the source, some big blowers require 100+hp!!! . The only load a turbo puts on the engine is back pressure, so it's like an exhaust system.. I wouldn't call that a little.. It's why all the recent cars and diesel trucks go with turbo, much more efficient. I would rather have a supercharger on a track though : )
@the80h Yeah, they both have their pros and cons.. I've heard of some people using BOTH!! Supercharger for low-mid range power, and turbo for maximum top end!! Crazy.
@bliglum yeah twin charge. but it would only be useful with a roots type or screw type charger. centrifugal would sort of be pointless with a turbo. twin charge could give you the power of a v8 turbo in a 4 cylinder.
superchargers>turbo on tracks. Imagine the s2000 being a beast on the track + superchrager. Turbo lags too much for the tracks and needs to be cooled properly.
everyone races from a roll these days because no one knows how to drive. all these turbo cars people cant hook. where i come from it dont matter how much power you make if you cant put it down, ive seen 300 horse cars walk 700 horse cars. proper suspension set up is key. guess yall ricers know nothin about that...
@LongBeachPits562 you dont need to brake boost, you just cruise at rpms where boost starts to build, in my car if i cruise around 3500-4000 i can punch it and i will boost fully, you just need to get to know a turbo. reading wont do shit
@stevemay203 Lol I didnt read about brake boosting I was riding passenger in a buddies car when he did it. I asked why his turbo pooled up so high while he was doing the same speed and he explained to me what he did.
one thing to make a note of here is that the supercharged as .2L less and is an AP1 with a F20C, while the turbo has better lowend because of the displacement with the F22C1 and has a lower (but higher peak) redline in an AP2 chassis. I am personally going to be building an NA AP2 (I plan to autoX and will need the throttle response)
It's personal preference really. With turbo your power kicks in early, the down side more wear to everything and more gas used. With SC peak power comes at max rpm, you retain the same progressive powerband like stock but with more power. The down side is you don't have max power as early as turbo (which could be a good thing as daily driver), thus not as fast racing in a straight line. But on the track when your rpm is always in vtec, you'll get what you paid for with SC.
@yuning83 you have it backwards... with a turbo it has to spool up and power is made exponentially... with a s/c power comes as soon as you hit the gas, power is made linearly and doesn't make as much as a turbo up top.
damnn that black s2k looks hot but the front bumper onthe silver car is fugly lol I own a black s2k myself and getting a sc asap eventhough i know its not as fast as a turbo set up but its more reliable, less maintanance and better for daily driving since the powers instant vs the turbo lag but theyre both good just a matter of what youre using it for
yep leave superchargers for big engines... Wonder how electric turbo's would go on this? Nissan and Mazda were rumoured to toy with them for the rx7 and gtr successors?
@DivinityOfDoom dude your a fucking tard its rwd and if you dont know what that is its rear wheel drive the wing is for down force dumb shit so he doesnt loose traction
and cuz he had a lip and wanted to be a little different makes him gay?? shit go look at spic ricer hondas and come back and tell me it still looks gay
Off the line boost and tq are great. SC is great for low end power and daily driving. Huge boost from turbos is great but the bigger numbers are less practical for most daily driving. Unless you are racing starting in 2nd gear, and going for huge numbers on the highway, a small turbo or SC makes more sense.
Here's the thing with superchargers, you use power to gain power. I do agree that turbos have more potential than s/c's. If you look at the Koenigsegg ccx it is one of the worlds fastest cars and it has a V8 in it... a twin turbo'd V8. But still, superchargers are fun too.
if everything else in both S2K including driver's skills were equal, then the black S2K would be in a disadvantage vs the supercharged one. S/C get the power directly from the engine via a belt. Turbos get it's energy from exhaust stream which take a little bit more time than S/C, known as turbo lag. However turbo have more potential than S/C as long as the throttle stays open.

@KrushKrills fuck Greaddy, just bring ur car to someone who knows what hes doin, and dont try to put boost in a stock engine pretending that its gonna take it without braking...
Listen boy, judging by your aggressive attitude to my original comment, Id bet my car that you are either 10 years old, or have a really small dick. Which one is it?
@splatters2000 A more linear powerband is always better for track usage. A supercharger will fare better. Sure the turbo will always give you more power. However you will eventually have to slow down to hit a turn. Taking every turn at peak power is not really feasible. Even on a track with long straights a supercharger might fare better due to some turbos restricting top end power. Either way, blown s2k? I wouldnt complain if i had either.
mmmm sure the boost mite be the same but all depends on the type of turbo used vs the type of s/c used. because 14psi from a GT35R is alot different to 14psi from a T3/T4 etc. And turbos are alot more efficient at producing its power given that it doesnt rob the engine of any power to make its power, like the s/c. I guess all superchargers really have is response (if even a small amount) and its sound :D
@infinitypro12 i think it would really depend on the driver for track testing. i would assume s/c would have faster exit speeds, but turbo would catch up after boosting unless it's just all turns haha
@WeHaveSteeze depends on the driving you do and how you want the feel of the car. if you want quick response and low end torque then superchagers would be better, say for auto cross.
@WeHaveSteeze, it was his choice dont be a hater. it's still quick just not compared to a turbo'd S2000 with probably more boost than the supercharger could handle lol
@WeHaveSteeze Lol For real man who the fuck wastes money on Supercharging a JDM.. instead of Turbochargering ?!? nice vid tho the supercharged S2000 did okay Vs the Turbocharged one.
@WeHaveSteeze i dont agree with this (even tho im a turbo guy)... there are a handful or more of s2k's on s2ki making 500+whp on superchargers. so dont get it twisted.
@WeHaveSteeze this makes no sense. its an effective power adder that is cheaper, less complex, and easier on your motor. turbo 4 is ideal but superchargers work for plenty of people
The song is voodoo people by The Prodigy. this is a remix of it though. Like this song should look up a collection of their music. BTW sweet movie. that 2.2 is pushing that turbo like crazy. still rather have an ap1 though.
with the supercharger the power is right there at start, no lag, while the turbo lags a little depending on the tuning, but the turbo delivers way more, I would have to agreed turbo>supercharger, its just cool hearing the supercharger whistling in low gears
i got questions: firstly, changing the exhaust of a Honda S2000 (or any year to) a uumm "muffler" just makes the car louder or must i also change the engine... secondly is it possible to change Honda S2000's doors to the one's that open going up... instead of to the side...? please respond my inbox or someway and i hear from people that by changing the exhaust to a muffler it takes up extra gas for the DB sound
Asking that question alone proves you don't know anything about engines. Turbo harm the engine more than supercharges. Why don't you google it before asking a stupid question.
If you want to be faster on a straight you turbo your car. If you want your car to be fast, but not cause the engine to lose life, supercharge it. In case you fellows didn't know; superchargers are much better for the engine. Turbo makes the engine die out faster while the supercharger gives power, but doesn't make the engine die out. As in cause mechanical problems to the engines and etc...
@stylin60es the supercharger dont give your engine a huge slap in the face everytime it activates because it is ALWAYS on, while the turbo but a very important stress everytime it activates, the more boost the more stress it gives.
@stylin60es S2k 2.0L are forged from factory, but its not a reason to ignore the pros and cons of the turbo. It will need you to continously watch and care for every mobile part of the engine, will eventually need rebuild if you abuse it etc, not the sc, its way less trouble on the long run altho costing more at the start
@vxtran84 actually...every s2000 doesnt reach its full power until 6000 rpm-8000rpm depending which year u have...if u owned an s2k ud know that...its just that the turbo is a better package for an s2000.....now slap a supercharger and a turbo on a 350z and ull have different results for sure
@ nightrush you mad bro lol

superchargers dont belong on JDM period.
WeHaveSteeze 1 year ago 60
@WeHaveSteeze depends on the driving you do and how you want the feel of the car. if you want quick response and low end torque then superchagers would be better, say for auto cross.

@sanjoriot bein the fastest on the block always matters, when u racing neway.

@WeHaveSteeze That wing doesn't belong on any car period
gnarlycharlie666 1 year ago
@WeHaveSteeze, it was his choice dont be a hater. it's still quick just not compared to a turbo'd S2000 with probably more boost than the supercharger could handle lol
ElPicheGringo 1 year ago
@ElPicheGringo what theres 2 hate on i love both of them if i could get either one right now i would be happy
WeHaveSteeze 1 year ago
@WeHaveSteeze Just because it was made in Japan doesn't make it JDM. lol, they are both USDM S2000s.
TheJoePepper 1 year ago
@WeHaveSteeze Lol For real man who the fuck wastes money on Supercharging a JDM.. instead of Turbochargering ?!? nice vid tho the supercharged S2000 did okay Vs the Turbocharged one.

LIV3TOKILL 1 year ago 2
@WeHaveSteeze i dont agree with this (even tho im a turbo guy)... there are a handful or more of s2k's on s2ki making 500+whp on superchargers. so dont get it twisted.
STiTypeUK 1 year ago
@STiTypeUK true but if you dont know what your doing its a mistake. it can go both ways but id prefer turbo
thew1nnamon 1 year ago
@WeHaveSteeze this makes no sense. its an effective power adder that is cheaper, less complex, and easier on your motor. turbo 4 is ideal but superchargers work for plenty of people
AlexanderBlueAvenue 1 year ago
@WeHaveSteeze i agree completely.
typerkush 1 year ago
@WeHaveSteeze ok i guess, i dont even know why that would matter superchargers are a reliable source of power
gruneygunnar 9 months ago
@WeHaveSteeze unless you want a simple and easy to fix peice of equipment that wont completely tear appart your engine bay.

@WeHaveSteeze Why? Spoon uses them. The civic type r in european countries had them too.

@06philse I can see it now, turbo kicks in, your car suddenly veers hard to the right lol.

this is why a turbo is better for high reving motors than a sc

a gt35r turbo vs a vortech supercharger???
the turbo is probably making "AT LEAST" 50-80whp more than the supercharger... note: "AT LEAST"
KennyT033 1 year ago
of course a turbo will win from a role, if they went from a dig it would be better since the SC will out launch the turbo

The song is voodoo people by The Prodigy. this is a remix of it though. Like this song should look up a collection of their music. BTW sweet movie. that 2.2 is pushing that turbo like crazy. still rather have an ap1 though.

haha supercharger gets owned. but then again its expected.

with the supercharger the power is right there at start, no lag, while the turbo lags a little depending on the tuning, but the turbo delivers way more, I would have to agreed turbo>supercharger, its just cool hearing the supercharger whistling in low gears

i got questions: firstly, changing the exhaust of a Honda S2000 (or any year to) a uumm "muffler" just makes the car louder or must i also change the engine... secondly is it possible to change Honda S2000's doors to the one's that open going up... instead of to the side...? please respond my inbox or someway and i hear from people that by changing the exhaust to a muffler it takes up extra gas for the DB sound

@stylin60es
Asking that question alone proves you don't know anything about engines. Turbo harm the engine more than supercharges. Why don't you google it before asking a stupid question.
NigguhJason 1 year ago
Nigguh. You're a dick.
stylin60es 1 year ago
turbo is usually faster on a 4 banger
MaddDogg81 1 year ago
If you want to be faster on a straight you turbo your car. If you want your car to be fast, but not cause the engine to lose life, supercharge it. In case you fellows didn't know; superchargers are much better for the engine. Turbo makes the engine die out faster while the supercharger gives power, but doesn't make the engine die out. As in cause mechanical problems to the engines and etc...
NigguhJason 1 year ago
How does a turbo kill the engine faster than a supercharger?
stylin60es 1 year ago
@stylin60es the supercharger dont give your engine a huge slap in the face everytime it activates because it is ALWAYS on, while the turbo but a very important stress everytime it activates, the more boost the more stress it gives.
zeusqc 1 year ago
@stylin60es S2k 2.0L are forged from factory, but its not a reason to ignore the pros and cons of the turbo. It will need you to continously watch and care for every mobile part of the engine, will eventually need rebuild if you abuse it etc, not the sc, its way less trouble on the long run altho costing more at the start

s2k supercharged won't get full power until 6000 rpm. and you woudn't take a supercharger s2k to put up a fight with a turbo s2k
vxtran84 1 year ago
@vxtran84 actually...every s2000 doesnt reach its full power until 6000 rpm-8000rpm depending which year u have...if u owned an s2k ud know that...its just that the turbo is a better package for an s2000.....now slap a supercharger and a turbo on a 350z and ull have different results for sure
