They had a lot of good actor's and actress in this film this scene is really good, Do you have the one where doc goes out side after the sherff gets shot and he says yeah i have 2 guns one for the both of you that was way to funny
Wow! Urban vernacular at the ripe old age of 53! Well, I suppose my answer to your statement would be - you first. Not long now mate. I'd get in as much as I could if I was you. Don't waste what's left.
This film's ace, bends history a little - but it's doesn't lose anything because of it.
The thing is, Holliday (while not half as lethal as the film makes out) was still a bit of a hot-head. He was aquitted of numerous murder charges, so if you think about it - his reputation in real life still surpasses that of Ringo's.
There are also lots of accounts of him not caring about risk taking because of his TB. Maybe he really was suicidal.
@theScytheofGod actually, most think tht Ringo never fought at all. some say he was violent and unpredictable, but he only killed unarmed men. no one knows how he died. some say he committed suicide (for some unknown reason), or either Holliday or Earp killed him.
you know i hate to say it cuz im all for Johhn Ringo, but i think that Doc Holliday was the only man he was ever really 'afraid' of. But anyway Johhny Ringo all the way!
MAN that's tight! The first and the last scenes were like volcanoes. One calm, one erupting.
The way Kilmer shot Biehn was like a gunfighters version of japanese iaido, the art of cutting with your sword from the draw and quickly sheating again.
I absolutely agree. its a great moment. the way he sheaths it quickly as if it were never even a concern at all, and to top it off, he twirls it once, (in my mind), to add insult to injury for the earlier attempt at showmanship Johnny tried on him in the saloon. Doc didn't do anything, because he didn't have to..your comment was exactly what I always thought. thanks for throwing that out.
i love it when ringo says i was just fooling about and holliday says i wasnt

Doc: In wine is truth (When I'm drunk, I'm honest).
Ringo: Do what you do best.
Doc: Drinking is not what I do best.
Ringo (gripping his pistol): Events are the teachers of fools.
Doc: Rest in peace.

Not lethal? Doc? At the OK Corral, 3 or 4men were shot, and Doc shot them all.
theScytheofGod 2 years ago
It's pretty doubtful. The fact is - nobody could ever know, and those who do could be romanticizing the truth.
It's nice to think there's an outside chance though.

The smart money would be on Johnny Ringo. The history books say when ever he rode into town, the male population went down.
jeff2all 2 years ago
No evidence to prove that. However there is all kinds of evidence of Doc's rage

You're saying there was an actual Johnny Ringo? Never heard of him. Thought they made him up for the movie. He certainly never fought Doc.
