I'll say it again: context is important. The meaning of the word "remnant" depends on its context. Isaiah 37:4 speaks of praying "for the remnant that is left" after the deportation of Ephraim and many of Judah. The USA is the regathering of many of Israel. Zephaniah 3:13 says:"remnant of Israel." In this context "remnant" means the Israelites of the last days (our time). Earlier in verse 10:"From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppiants..." The USA: Isaiah chptr 18 not about Ehiopia.

@ghostwolf66 I have a deep interest in history and a determination to figure out historical mysteries. So it all started with my desire to figure out who the real King Arthur was. I discovered (to my shock) that Arthur and his fellow Welsh were Israelites. I continued down the rabbit hole (so to speak) of true history and saw that the Anglo-Saxons (all the Germanic peoples along with the Celts and some others) were of Israel. I compared secular books & articles on history with the Bible.

Again, Zechariah was written AFTER the Jewish return from Babylonian captivity. In Zech. 8:13 it says: "O house of Judah, and house of Israel." In this context both Judah and Eprhaim are being spoken of, so Judah will not be addressed as "israel." The house of Israel is spoken of here as being separate from Judah. Context must always be considered. I was open to listening to the reasoning for the idea of the 10 Lost Tribes. Give it a chance. The evidence is there. The reasoning is sound.
Context is important. There are passages in scripture where God is speaking solely about Judah (and not Ephraim). In these passages God does often address Judah as Israel. In Nehemiah 12:47 (this book is about the remnant (Judah) that returned from Babylon) they are called "Israel" (Neh. 9:1). When it says "all Israel" in Neh. 12:47 it is speaking in the context of the Judahite remnant. Zechariah was also written after the Babylonian exile. However, the context in Zech. 8:13 is different.
Dan. 9:27 reiterates Dan. 9:26. The 2nd clause in verse 26--"and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.."--is elaborated upon the last part of verse 27. Likewise the 1st clause in verse 26--"...shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself"--is elaborated upon in the first part of verse 27. (Jerusalem being destroyed "with a flood" (verse 26) is a metaphor for the Roman army overruning the city and razing the 2nd Temple, thus killing many people.)
The rest of Dan. 9:27 says: "and for the overspreading of abomination he shall make it desolate..." This is talking about Jesus bringing destruction to Jerusalem; which occurred in 70 AD. God punished Jerusalem by way of the Roman army (under the prince Titus, son of the emperor Vespasian) that surrounded the city. These soldiers destroyed the Temple, going against Titus' command to spare that structure (because of the gold therein). Thus Dan. 9:26:"and the people of the prince..."
What Dan. 9:27 is really talking about is Jesus. The baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist is the beginning of the 70th & final week of years. In the middle of this "week" Jesus was crucified (3 years into his ministry). He was the PERFECT sacrifice, putting an end to all sacrifices (the latter foreshadowing him becoming "the Lamb"). This week ends (some 3 years later) with the conversion of Saul; he becomes Paul, a major instrument for causing farflung Israel to become God's wife again.
The word "prince" in Dan. 9:26 is not the subject of the clause in which it appears: "and the people of the prince that shall come..." The word "people" is the subject of that clause. So the pronoun "he" in verse 27 MUST refer to the only other person spoken of in verse 26: "Messiah." Verse 27 is not talking about a future 7-year tribulation, in the middle of which the "antichrist" will break his treaty with the State of Israel. The State of Israel is NOT the regathering of Israel.
Ghostwolf66 is right: Romans 11 is talking about Israel (the House of Israel and pre-Exodus Israel (Greeks, Irish, Welsh, Romans)) being grafted back onto the tree, being Jesus. And I'm sure that Mr. Missler is not a moron. I suspect that he knows what he's doing. Now, he also misinterprets Dan. 9:27 so as to make it fit his model for end times prophecy/Israel. The pronoun "he" in that verse refers to Jesus, NOT to "the prince" in the previous verse because the prince is not the subject.
In Romans 9:30 Paul calls his brethren (Sephardic Jews) "Israel" and calls those who are of farflung Israel "Gentiles." "That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness...Israel, which followed after righteousness, hath not attained..." In the context of certain passages, "Israel" means Judah. In other passages "Israel" means the House of Israel. Together they are Israel. Ezekiel 37:11 says: "the whole house of Israel." In this passage 2 sticks symbolize "Joseph" and "Judah."
The bulk of Bible scholars would disagree with Mr. Missler:

Chuck Missler is using faulty logic here. Consider this: just because a Poodle is a dog doesn't mean all dogs are Poodles. Because a Black man is a Texan doesn't mean all Black men are Texans. Search throughout the Bible, and you will not find any disbursed Israelite from the old northern tribes as being called a Jew. In fact, the term "Jew" doesn't even appear in the Hebrew Bible until 1 Kings 18 !
The remnant are those of the House of Judah who were left after the Assyrian deportations. That was Jerusalem and a few other cities of Judah. For many persons of Judah were deported along with the House of Israel. (The Assyrian invasion of Judah came to an end when an angel slew 180,000 men who were part of the army of Assyria that had surrounded Jerusalem (701 BC).) Btw both Ezra 2 and Nehemiah 2 mention "Israel." You must understand that "Israel" in these two chapters refers to Judah.
In Ephesians 5:27-28 it says: "that he might present it to himself a glorious church." It is spoken in the context of husbands loving "their wives as their own bodies." This passage is saying that these specific Gentiles (scattered Israel who are Christians) are both the body (church) of Christ and his wife (Israel): Scattered Israel (which includes the House of Israel and descendants of Israel who departed Egypt before the Exodus) once again became the wife of Jesus, through faith.
In Hosea 2:2 God is speaking to the House of Israel or the northern kingdom(continuing from chapter 1): "for she is not my wife..." Further down in Hosea 2:19 God says (still speaking to the House of Israel): "And I will betroth thee unto me for ever." Revelation 19:7-9 speaks of the same thing: "the marriage supper of the Lamb." Jesus started this by telling his disciples to go to the lost sheep of the House of Israel (In Matthew 10:6). God used Paul to get this going in a great way.
Yes, anybody can become a Christian. History shows that the faith took off in a big way among scattered Israel in Europe. Yes, it says in Jer. 3:8 that God divorced the House of Israel, but you have to consider this verse in light of other Old Test. passages. It says in Hosea that Israel or Ephraim, whom God divorced, would become his wife again. When scattered Israel or the Lost Tribes are spoken of in the New Test., they are spoken of as "strangers," because they were separated from their Judean brethren of the Southern Kingdom. Sephardic Jews (not Ashkenazi Jews) are part of a greater people: the Israelites, who include peoples descended from Western Europeans mostly.

God said in Hosea that he would make Israel (Ephraim and much of Judah), whom he had divorced, his wife again. Christianity spreading among the Germans, Celts and some others was this prophecy fulfilled. The 10 Tribes, who were not his people, would become his again. And they would be large in number (Hosea 1:10-11).

The name "Jew" has only applied (then and today) to the descendants of the Southern Kingdom (not including Ashkenazi Jews). I do let God speak for himself. Joseph's wife was not an Egyptian; she was an Israelite. Do your research into it. The reason Jacob adopted Manasseh and Ephraim was so that the birthright blessings would be passed directly to them from Jacob. What happened was, Joseph was split into - Manasseh and Ephraim. @SeanShannohan What most don't know is that 99% of so called Christianity is not in fact Christian at all, it's "holi-days", customs and many of the beliefs have been taken from paganism and mixed into Christianity staring in the late 1st century AD. By 400 AD, and with the Rome officially changing over to "Christianity" this pattern was set. Rome did not covert to Christianity, IT converted the nominal Christians many of whom were already keeping Christmas, news years, Easter TO Paganism, etc.

I am a 7th day sabbath keeping Christian as the bible teaches and the NT church demonstrated by keeping and teaching on God's sabbath and keeping the OT Holy Days which were supposedly done away with. Jeremiah 31 says that the two houses will be reunited and that the new covenant is to be made with Israel and Judah. Hebrews says the same thing. I'll say it again: context is important. The meaning of the word "remnant" depends on its context. Isaiah 37:4 speaks of praying "for the remnant that is left" after the deportation of Ephraim and many of Judah. The USA is the regathering of many of Israel. Zephaniah 3:13 says:"remnant of Israel." In this context "remnant" means the Israelites of the last days (our time). Earlier in verse 10:"From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppiants..." The USA: Isaiah chptr 18 not about Ehiopia.

Again, Zechariah was written AFTER the Jewish return from Babylonian captivity. In Zech. 8:13 it says: "O house of Judah, and house of Israel." In this context both Judah and Eprhaim are being spoken of, so Judah will not be addressed as "israel." The house of Israel is spoken of here as being separate from Judah. Context must always be considered. I was open to listening to the reasoning for the idea of the 10 Lost Tribes. Give it a chance. The evidence is there. The reasoning is sound.

Context is important. There are passages in scripture where God is speaking solely about Judah (and not Ephraim). In these passages God does often address Judah as Israel. In Nehemiah 12:47 (this book is about the remnant (Judah) that returned from Babylon) they are called "Israel" (Neh. 9:1). When it says "all Israel" in Neh. 12:47 it is speaking in the context of the Judahite remnant. Zechariah was also written after the Babylonian exile. However, the context in Zech. 8:13 is different.

Dan. 9:27 reiterates Dan. 9:26. The 2nd clause in verse 26--"and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.."--is elaborated upon the last part of verse 27. Likewise the 1st clause in verse 26--"...shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself"--is elaborated upon in the first part of verse 27. (Jerusalem being destroyed "with a flood" (verse 26) is a metaphor for the Roman army overruning the city and razing the 2nd Temple, thus killing many people.)

The rest of Dan. 9:27 says: "and for the overspreading of abomination he shall make it desolate..." This is talking about Jesus bringing destruction to Jerusalem; which occurred in 70 AD. God punished Jerusalem by way of the Roman army (under the prince Titus, son of the emperor Vespasian) that surrounded the city. These soldiers destroyed the Temple, going against Titus' command to spare that structure (because of the gold therein). Thus Dan. 9:26:"and the people of the prince..."

What Dan. 9:27 is really talking about is Jesus. The baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist is the beginning of the 70th & final week of years. In the middle of this "week" Jesus was crucified (3 years into his ministry). He was the PERFECT sacrifice, putting an end to all sacrifices (the latter foreshadowing him becoming "the Lamb"). This week ends (some 3 years later) with the conversion of Saul; he becomes Paul, a major instrument for causing farflung Israel to become God's wife again.

The word "prince" in Dan. 9:26 is not the subject of the clause in which it appears: "and the people of the prince that shall come..." The word "people" is the subject of that clause. So the pronoun "he" in verse 27 MUST refer to the only other person spoken of in verse 26: "Messiah." Verse 27 is not talking about a future 7-year tribulation, in the middle of which the "antichrist" will break his treaty with the State of Israel. The State of Israel is NOT the regathering of Israel.

Ghostwolf66 is right: Romans 11 is talking about Israel (the House of Israel and pre-Exodus Israel (Greeks, Irish, Welsh, Romans)) being grafted back onto the tree, being Jesus. And I'm sure that Mr. Missler is not a moron. I suspect that he knows what he's doing. Now, he also misinterprets Dan. 9:27 so as to make it fit his model for end times prophecy/Israel. The pronoun "he" in that verse refers to Jesus, NOT to "the prince" in the previous verse because the prince is not the subject.

In Romans 9:30 Paul calls his brethren (Sephardic Jews) "Israel" and calls those who are of farflung Israel "Gentiles." "That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness...Israel, which followed after righteousness, hath not attained..." In the context of certain passages, "Israel" means Judah. In other passages "Israel" means the House of Israel. Together they are Israel. Ezekiel 37:11 says: "the whole house of Israel." In this passage 2 sticks symbolize "Joseph" and "Judah."

Chuck Missler is using faulty logic here. Consider this: just because a Poodle is a dog doesn't mean all dogs are Poodles. Because a Black man is a Texan doesn't mean all Black men are Texans. Search throughout the Bible, and you will not find any disbursed Israelite from the old northern tribes as being called a Jew. The remnant are those of the House of Judah who were left after the Assyrian deportations. That was Jerusalem and a few other cities of Judah. For many persons of Judah were deported along with the House of Israel. (The Assyrian invasion of Judah came to an end when an angel slew 180,000 men who were part of the army of Assyria that had surrounded Jerusalem (701 BC).) Btw both Ezra 2 and Nehemiah 2 mention "Israel." You must understand that "Israel" in these two chapters refers to Judah.

In Ephesians 5:27-28 it says: "that he might present it to himself a glorious church." It is spoken in the context of husbands loving "their wives as their own bodies." This passage is saying that these specific Gentiles (scattered Israel who are Christians) are both the body (church) of Christ and his wife (Israel): Scattered Israel (which includes the House of Israel and descendants of Israel who departed Egypt before the Exodus) once again became the wife of Jesus, through faith.

In Hosea 2:2 God is speaking to the House of Israel or the northern kingdom(continuing from chapter 1): "for she is not my wife..." Further down in Hosea 2:19 God says (still speaking to the House of Israel): "And I will betroth thee unto me for ever." Revelation 19:7-9 speaks of the same thing: "the marriage supper of the Lamb." Jesus started this by telling his disciples to go to the lost sheep of the House of Israel (In Matthew 10:6). God used Paul to get this going in a great way.

Yes, anybody can become a Christian. History shows that the faith took off in a big way among scattered Israel in Europe. Yes, it says in Jer. 3:8 that God divorced the House of Israel, but you have to consider this verse in light of other Old Test. passages. It says in Hosea that Israel or Ephraim, whom God divorced, would become his wife again. When scattered Israel or the Lost Tribes are spoken of in the New Test., they are spoken of as "strangers," because they were separated from their Judean brethren of the Southern Kingdom. Sephardic Jews (not Ashkenazi Jews) are part of a greater people: the Israelites, who include peoples descended from Western Europeans mostly.

God said in Hosea that he would make Israel (Ephraim and much of Judah), whom he had divorced, his wife again. Christianity spreading among the Germans, Celts and some others was this prophecy fulfilled. The 10 Tribes, who were not his people, would become his again. And they would be large in number (Hosea 1:10-11).

Joseph's wife was not an Egyptian; she was an Israelite. Do your research into it. The reason Jacob adopted Manasseh and Ephraim was so that the birthright blessings would be passed directly to them from Jacob. What happened was, Joseph was split into - Manasseh and Ephraim. By 400 AD, and with the Rome officially changing over to "Christianity" this pattern was set. Jeremiah 31 says that the two houses will be reunited and that the new covenant is to be made with Israel and Judah. Hebrews says the same thing. The new covenant is to be made only with Israel and Judah, no one else. Jesus said that he came only for the lost 10 tribes. He sent all of the apostles, including Paul, only to the ten tribes. Paul says things like our fathers were under the law, etc. ONLY Israel was under the law. Non Israelite gentiles were NEVER under the law.

This is just plain misleading. The two are NOT completely interchangeable. In fact after the captivity, "Judean" and "Jew" began to have a more geographical and less religious connotation. So by the time we get to Paul's letters, he calls himself "a Jew" and also "a Benjaminite." If Paul went on to clarify his tribal affiliation, I don't see how it's "over clarifying" or ":too specific" as this borderline heretic asserts with no evidence but a flimsy logical fallacy.

Moses was referred to as an Egyptian but were all peoples of Egyptian black? Psalm 105 states Israel came into the land of Egypt, therefore he was not born of the tribes of Ham who dwelt in Egypt, he immigrated there much as peoples do today all over the world. As far Acts 21:31, I see no connection, maybe the wrong verse was referred to.

So, a woman of Judah marries a Gaddite, she becomes a Gaddite... but he still had lost his original land inferitance when the Assyrians took Israel.
