@WillKillForName if you have an xbox, i dont think there is a desert siege port (only gr1 + island thunder), however if you have a pc then get the ghost recon gold edition ;)

I hav problems installing this mod as well as island thunder. please help. I see the mp1 folder in the mods folder. but wen i boot up GR, and go into options->mods i dont see anything listed under available mods. i hav the original GR patched to 1.4

Man, what happened to the Tom Clancy games I knew. They were the best sim/tactical games out there and you could count on them being realistic and not generic action fps's. It seems that after Rainbow Six 3 & kinda Ghost Recon 2 for the Xbox they started going downhill.

Ive played every decent first person shooter ever made, i am 21 years old, and was born just prior to 2d personal computer game development in the early 90's. I have used the USAF's preparatory 3D combat simulations during my training for the Security Forces at Lackland AFB, I own every notable modern fps title including major modifications and total conversions, GRAW is the most realistic first person shooter ever released to consumer market, closely followed by Rainbow Six 3.

Project Reality was limited by bf2s primitive engine capabilities, Flashpoint also has a extremely primitive engine, but I'm excited about OF2 that should be interesting.

graw only looks better, because its almost a decade newer than OGR, OGR, while old, is more 'realistic', for the sheer fact that people do not see in the third person. last i checked, my vision comes from my eyeballs.

to say that the advanced warfighter games suck and are not realistic at all, they are still more realistic than CS or Half-Life...But they are nowhere as realistic as games like ARMA 2, which is the best example of a true military sim.

the original Ghost Recons, i think, were alot more militarily authentic than the GRAW series. the pre-GRAW Ghost Recons got the military simulator aspect down nearly-perfectly.

GRAW, today, in my opinion, is an arcade shooter. Sad way to go.

ya I have rogue spear and I still play it lol, even though it's like 7 years old ha. Rogue Spear is a very good game though and was fun as hell to play on msn gaming zone but they cancelled it and you can't play it online their anymore -.-

I've never played Desert Siege, only the original Ghost Recon. It's a pretty good game. Not as complex as RedStorm's masterpiece Rogue Spear, which I think is still the best tactical shooter out there you can play.

Thanks for the response. I managed to reinstall the original gr without uninstalling and now the installer for the desert siege and island thunder actually works instead of being an instantaneous install. A site helped me to delete gr from the registry, which was wat allowed me to do the reinstall.
