I know this will sound evil, but if I could choose to be a Harry Potter character in real life I would DEFINITELY be Lord Voldemort. And I would enjoy it a lot. Ah, yes...I can just picture myself shooting killing spells as innocent wizards, and using the Cruatios curse to torture people...ah, that would be fun...and being the dark lord who all the Death Eaters worship...call me a dark, freaky hermit, but I would love it.
Well, according to the books, especially book 6, Tom Riddle was a handsome, charming and extraordinarily clever person, he made people trust him and open up to him in order to destroy them after he got what he wanted. When he started killing people, he turned to be kind of the reverse of Dorian Gray, whose bad deeds reflected on his prortrait while he remained young and handsome, only Voldemort's wickedness showed on his face instead. No wonder he was rendered so deformed.
I think voldemort is quite a funny character the way he runs around and he in my opinion is quite giddy when he is about to duel Harry but he is also terrifying in his face with no nose haha :)
What's the most amazing in the way Fiennes played Voldemort is that he made him such a complex villain. I mean, he's really frightening and disgusting, but very attractive, interesting and badass. Some ppl even think he is seductive, while he has no nose and a snake-like skin ! He is not only terrifying but also appealing. You can easily be attracted by him. And that's EXACTLY how i though Voldemort would be, while reading the books.
My god, at the time i had never read the book so when i saw this movie i didn't know what was gonna happen. When the alien-looking life form that was voldemort exploded out of that cauldron everyone in that theater was on the edge of their seat.
I like these dark tones and scenes in the movie. this part kicks ass when voldemort rises again. i also like the intro part of the movie that shows the tombstones and skulls of godric's hollow and then shows nagini going into the house to tell voldemort that the old muggle caretaker is standing outside the door when voldemort kills franks, that muggle caretaker.

die sache mit dem besitz des elderstabs macht das ganze allerdings wieder etwas verstrickt und einige scheinen da nicht hinter zu kommen, ich hatte auch meine probleme, aber so wie ich das sehe ist der besitz in diesem moment egal gewesen und erst im finalkampf entscheidend gewesen.

I think Ralph Fiennes is a great actor and works well as Voldemort in the series, but he's very different from how I still picture him in the books, not too mention too young, and David Bowie would easily be my #1 choice for the role.

It stinks that you're so disappointed (as you are clearly a big fan)...but it's almost over. Hang in there. Perhaps someday you can remake it the way you'd like it to be filmed. Movies always get recycled and updated. TV mini-series, maybe?

AWESOME return! Love how he got that weird shadow robe as opposed to a regular robe in the book. The weird baby like version of him's return kinda reminds me of nIghtmare on Elm St part 5, but it still was sooooooo cool! Voldemort looks so cool and the guy that plays him is great!

If U will a uhaul type truck backed up to a building. A toddler girl Potter with a stuffed toy. Toss of toy into the truck & she'd chase after it & her mother after it. The door would slam & the inverted tail pipe would pump carbon monoxide in until they fell asleep. Not a lethal dose as Potter was the Pride of Nazi Germany as much as she is loved by Abraham. Mother would come up angry & shocked thinking the intentions were Murder. Child would remark , "They didn't suffer, thank god."

Voldemort can be more frightening than Hitler in person. The Skull & Crossbones secret society if they think its Hitler's skeleton they had, they are sadly mistaken. As he was very much alive. Albeit Bush from the Charlemagne branch of Germany, his motives were more about greed & personal gain than Hitlers. Evil greater than Hitler that set him off in opposition of it & few know a minuscule of the truth. I had a chance to be gased but not to death, so I had an idea. I would not take cyanide.

No way in hell is Voldemort more evil than Hitler. Voldemort used a spell to cause instant death. Hitler had people tortured to death, their blood drained, twins sewned together, babies flung into the air and shot, children and infants disseceted, chmicals in their eyes, gassed; 10 milllion genocides; 45 millions lives. Voldemort did not do anything like that at all; his murders were bloodless and quick. Hitler's were done with torture only thought possible in horror fiction.

One of the great powers Ralph Fiennes has as an actor are his eyes. Just watch Schindler's List and Contstant gardener. He is perfect for this role.

Haha I dunno...an entire half of his family was famous for being "loony"--I'd say he's predisposed to be a bit crazed; not to mention that in combination with the aloofness and arrogance from his father's side. Admittadly, I was sort of put out when they didn't give him red eyes, but other than that I thought he appeared sufficiently creepy for a man who hacked up his soul.

Well...I suppose we're never going to see eye to eye one this, but hey, everyone's entitled to an opinion. I'm satisfied with the movies (for the most part anyways), you're not. It stinks that you're so disappointed (as you are clearly a big fan)...but it's almost over. Hang in there. Perhaps someday you can remake it the way you'd like it to be filmed. Movies always get recycled and updated. TV mini-series, maybe?

I think a lot of people (including myself, obviously) tend to call someone "insane" when they routinely behave or act in ways that are so far from what we consider normal, like Voldy's proclivity to kill people for fun. It's not correct terminology, but it wouldn't be the web if language wasn't butchered now and then =)
