FYI the suspect was check and released from hospital with bruising only. And criminal record from his 43was extensive. He got minor injury but a long prison sentence.
i hope u guys realize that he robbed some1 not killed them but robbed them. he got run over and hand cuffed after being run over and your saying that's what he deserved. wow thats just not smart on so many levels
This guy probably got caught smoking weed behind the IHOP on 518 and the Pearland cops had to take him down using "any means necessary". Poor guys legs looks like he won't walk for the rest of his life.
the cop did that intentionally. all police officers are trained to drive the vehicles. unless they put a rent-a-cop behind the wheel, this so called police officer intentionally ran the guy over. that is what they call excessive force. now i dont feel all that safe with that cop still on the force. do you feel comfortable knowing that this over reactive cop is on the road today with your kids?
damn i live in pearland and those cops are ass holes, still a great and funny way to bring down somebody, if more cops did this there would be so much less crime
So you would rather he (or a serial murderer) would sit in jail, with my hard earned tax dollars paying for their three square meals a day, weight rooms, library, cable TV, etc? I wish he had been killed. Wouldn't have to worry about him hurting anyone.
The death penalty won't be abolished in Texas. Know why? Because if it ever is, then every Texan who isn't a liberal with their head up their ass will arm themselves (much like their are already), and anytime they see a criminal will shoot on sight. Hell, why not? Free food, free TV, no bills to pay at all. Living in jail is the LIFE!! And it's all thanks to liberal fucktards like yourself. Have a nice day!
I came across this and couldn't help but think of you.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." - John Stuart Mill
@Acefighter17 You do realize that it costs considerably more money to put someone on death row than to give them life without parole. Someone on death row gets 20 years of filing appeals and racking up legal fees on the state's dime. If there was a quicker and cheaper way of putting people to death, I'd be all for it. But I'm very much against the death penalty just because of how expensive the current system is.
@Acefighter17 You're misguided, simply from a pragmatic point of view I assumed the death penalty would be a more simple and affordable solution to crime, but then after researching it a bit, the lawsuits and proceedings required for the death penalty actually come out to being more (in millions) of our tax dollars than 40$ a day for jail.
@whattheheck1000 He gave up his rights when he decided to break the law. Does he deserve to get run over? Probably not. I just don't think our society should have any compassion for criminals.
guess what, that exact same guy who was running from the police shot and killed a houston cop several months after this incident. now that is something you definetly wont hear about on CNN.
BURGLARYBOY* should've YIELDED to the right, and POPO* shoulda been doing 99 in /55. there's texas justice.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
That could have killed him, which is never worth it. No one is incorrigible, and think of the suspect's innocent family.
The death penalty will be abolished within 20 years with the way it's going. I hope it never makes a revival.

@Acefighter17 The death penalty costs more money than housing someone in jail for their entire life. Get your facts straight.
