esp mx 250 and mx 220 is the hetfield explorer not the ex .

there two different shaped explorers one pointy edged one round ! the round one is the original mx which hetfield played thats y gibson sued them and now they cant make the round shape any more

the mx is unreal compared to the ex400 the mx is probably the best guitar i have ever played it is awesome but pricey

I have a question about this guitar, i want to buy it for 2 weeks now, do you have a problem with the balance, I mean does the neck tend to dive down, do you have to hold it with your hand to keep it at 40 degress? or it just stays perfectly on you?

@Physinix With a decent raw leather strap it keeps position pretty good, though it's a bit top-heavy. Anyway, a SG is worse than this, if you ever tried out a SG, you'll know that you have to hold the neck up a bit all the time.

@ metallicamastg dude, gibsons suck I don't care what people say the only good gibson is the explorer, the bodys are thick and heavy and the necks are bulky and the bridges lack versitility and the pick ups are weak on alot of them. Take the Les Paul for example okay looking guitar but shifty to play it's exactly what I was talking about I give it a 3/10. Jackson, ibanez, and ESP are the way to go dude.

adjust the bridge higher, if that doesnt help, try adjusting your truss rod. I took my guitar to a shop to see why the buzz wouldnt come out and he just adjusted my truss rod. Its an easy fix.

let me clear up de 400 vs 401 discussion here..

400 was made in Korea in Olympic White and Glossy Black. With a special edition (being a signature LTD bij Wayne Static with an diamond plate cover).

The 401 is made in Indonesia and is available in Olympic White and Glossy Black. There is also the 401DX, this one is made with a Floyd Rose Floating bridge ands is only available in See-Thru Black.

basically, the 400 and the 401 are the same guitar except for the country of origin.

no dude, Hetfield Explorers are EXP's. they dont make'em anymore, or i should say that you can't buy one from the factory in America because Gibson sued them in the ninties for making the Explorers without their permission. Hi man, I've tried FX-400 and noticed that it's neck it's a bit heavy so it dives down when you let go of him, it's harder to move around the neck and holding it at the same time, that guitar is not balanced good, still I'm planning to buy EX400, is there some way to solve that problem, like leather strap, counterweight on the body side strap, or replacing strap attachment place, or getting used to it :-(... have u tried any of this?
