Really dumb. I don't care if you are a Grand Master. Bad habits make for bad mistakes. The man to the right of the rifle in the video is clearly to cool for school. Spotters are still towards the back. Look how he is standing. Not in good base. X-tremley stupid.
@TheSelfDefenseCenter It's an optical illusion ... he is not in front of the muzzle, it;s just the angle the way the rock is. I think Thunder Ranch has done this long enough to know the difference ... what part of optical illusion don't you people get. Nothing unsafe is being done here. As well as instructors how you watch the student if you are not alongside them, still behind the muzzle, it's a long gun for god sakes
@smsnipes1 Oh, I hadn't realized you checked every single account that has ever viewed this video to make sure they were not kids.... Regardless, being in front of a shooter or beside a shooter is not safe... end of story.
@wazzup001 Please spare me, as I said it's a camera illusion, nobody is in front of the muzzle, nor are they along the crown of the muzzle. What difference is it on a firing line with someone laying next to another shooter, this is no different. The rock is big enough and the fall off in front prevents you from being unsafe, not a rule of safety. If you want to wear eye protection you go right ahead, but in the rain, compounding problems of a wet scope, please you would never see anything.
@shlowlight Eye protection is good idea when firing any firearm, not something for "squares" as you claim, many things can go wrong when firing a weapon and if you are posting a video on a website where young impressionable minds are bound to view the video you should at least include a side note to wear eye protection. Also, EVERYONE should be BEHIND the current shooter... that is just a general safety tip
@wazzup001 Do you see any kids around? These guys are pretty damn good at what they do if you would watch some of the other vids lowlight has posted you would know this..Stop being a puss. I've yet to see a bullet make a sharp 90 deg. curve directly from the muzzle so get off your high horse!
@wazzup001You are not always given the luxury of being behind the shooter, enter a room, move on line downrange, is not BEHIND THE SHOOTER, it is alongside the shooter. The rules of gun safety say nothing about being Behind anything... Did you ever see a team enter a room, they are in a straight line with loaded guns, and shoot alongside each other all the time.

why is the guy on the right standing IN FRONT of the muzzle? And no eye protection...
BAD example, X-TREMELY stupid.
slashsplat 3 years ago
He is not in front of the muzzle it is an angle thing, the camera only makes it look that way.
eye protection, please, this isn't some square range bullshit.

@slashsplat I doubt his high end bolt action rifle is going to explode in his face when the bolt is locked in.
