Ms. Houston sung another song by one of the world famous Winans Clan (BeBe) originally performed by CeCe "Don't Cry For Me"-remember that one? I could name even more. So who is the liar now?
Today at her funeral, the Winans tried to sell their own song called "Tomorrow" as the song Whitney was singing in 1983. tsk tsk tsk. This video proves that it was this popular "Annie" song instead. How slimy! They should know better. It's just way too easy to look stuff up like this. Spread the word! Expose liars!! Whitney wasn't a liar. She was the real deal.
@MzRoulette91 I know. One of the Winans told a story at the funeral saying that Whitney was singing THEIR song. Then they sang their song at the funeral, but this video shows he was probably lying to sell his own song. Whitney was singing Annie's song; not the Winan's song.
@fiveinslide6@MzRoulette I know you guys live your lives on YT, but just because you cannot find Whitney singing the Winans "Tomorrow" on youtube does not mean she didn't sing it! The Winans were famous even before Ms. Houston and garnered as a family a total of 35 Grammy Awards and other accolades too numerous to list here. BeBe produced music on the Bodyguard soundtrack with Whitney-did you know that?
thanks for sharing. and it is good...pitchy but good...she is so young here. and God bless Cissy Houston...a mother and mentor how taught her lovely daughter...and stood by her through it all. i am grateful to God for both of these women...and he voices they were given.
Lol. Enough of the God crap. I really wish people would stop acting like they know what God is doing or thinking. lol. It wouldn't make sense for God to take away something that can heal and teach. Life is a journey and we are only human. We fall and we choose to get back up. She chose to get back up and that has the power to inspire millions. For all we know....that may be her true purpose. If you believe that there is no God in that....then your God must be an ass. Christina is a joke.
For those of you that still follow Aretha Franklin, a recent review from a Boston concert in The Globe called her voice a mezzo-soprano, with less power but still a lot of energy; I still feels without her problems Whitney is continued to be destined to go the Aretha route. This concert by Auntie Ree was the same day Whitney performed X Factor. One thing that has limited Ree's full potential is her aerophobia; thus limiting her performances to North America. And this was actually December 1984.
Actually, this was December 1984. I miss the days when Whitney was a Soprano. She's now a full-blown Contralto (Her highest note was C#5 on the I Look To You album from what we've heard so far!)
ok a contalto is a woman who vocal timbre is like that of a man but has the range of a female i.e. tony braxton, anita baker... whitney is a traditoanl alto as this point
That's also not true, a contralto is simply the accurate term for a woman of the lowest female vocal tessitura. Alto is just a diminutive of the term Contralto. Whitney's still a mezzo-soprano as with the fact that her tessitura sits where a mezzo's would although she can now sing lower than most mezzo-sopranos, alto's, tenors, and a few baritones I'd imagine (check the videos she's sang as low as an A2 at times) but is still a mezzo soprano none the less.
She's still a mezzo-soprano, your range alone does not determine your vocal ability. On the CD she sings several E's and 1 F5 in head voice and belts an E5 in Nothing But Love although it's somewhat weak. She was never really a fully soprano she was just able to fake being a soprano back when she had full use of her range, her timbre was always closest to a mezzo though now it's fully a mezzo to say the least.
Whitney is nobody's alto, mezzo, or contralto. Whitney stated years ago she was a soprano and a high one at that. She now a dramatic soprano. Her voice is very heavy now, but she still can sound light and agile. Calling you Tonight on the CD is example, she sounds like the Preacher's Wife era there. Plus her background vocals are still high soprano on the CD.........................
she was very young and enthusiastic and excited and EAGER to PERFORM and show what she could do thass all!!Plus,it sounds a bit 'funny' because there aren't enough musicians behind her to give support and setting for her instrument!!I think it's endearing (an it certainly worked...the REASON that she was doing this P.A for!!) too,so she should worry,LoL!!
True, that's where Mariah comes in....LOL Whitney may have that powerful vocal, but Mariah has that softer vocal but Mariah is nothing to sleep on....she has the pipes
Hell no! Whitney has a very unique crystal clear high soprano voice in her prime with unlimited range and power. Whitney in this era would put any singer to shame.
isn't this 1985

If I'm not mistaken this was filmed in 1984 at Arista Anniversary, the same day she sang I Am Changing.

Yh it was.. I think didn't have as much control over her voice as she did later of course.. coz Whit has never had any intonation problems.
It is great to see some early vids of her.. she even had the confidence n stage presence there - always a star !

I agree
It's just that, I think, she should've done it with lower note and in a softer way.
I love her always, but when a song is too easy for a singer like her with a strong gigantic voice, sometimes it hurts to the ear.
But it's only to me so it doesn't really even matter.
