  • Whoa dude, That car looks and sounds amazing!! You've seriously done amazing work on it.

  • howd you fit those 17's?

  • Awesome build

  • wish mine was a z not a zx but still happy check out my channel and my v8 zx

  • your bodywork looks really good

  • damn that thing sits so pretty

  • My question is: does it get attract attention?

  • Wow nice Car i have a 1972 240 getting ready to put in a high compression L28 motor with triple carbs nice car dude

  • I love the car! You did a nice tasteful restoration too. I'm glad to see someone not butcher it and put an American V8 in it. My mom had a 76 she bought new and she sold it when I was young but I still remember everything about that car. I hope to have one some time soon. Keep up the good work!

  • Amazing body work. Blew me away you've really got some talent there.

  • "Zero to traffic court in 6 sec"

lawlz been there done that plenty a time haha

  • DUDE this car is amazing!!!!!!!!!! COULD you help me? Im gonna buy this car (my first car but its kinda SHITY so yyyeeaaaa.....

  • Good follow through you did a great job!!

  • nice z man. great work. I have a 1976 280z im working on now that im trying to get up and running. It was my mom's old car and she's letting me bring it back to life and keep it as my first car so im really excited. My mom says it was really fast and idk much about cars but 149 hp and 163 torque doesnt sound too fast. How fast have you gone in your z? Is it as quick as ppl say it is?

  • Sweet car man! you got lucky! cant find gems like that where iam from :P but seriously, amazing job, especially with-out spending an assload!

  • in going to buy one a 1983 280zx in the next few weeks.

It's in fairly good condition little rust on the top, one small dent on the hood of the car. Interiors ok the owner wants to get rid of it so what do you think i can get it for?

  • This car and your story deserve a 4-page magazine feature! I would have given up long before you did - the teardown of electrical and bodywork looked like a nightmare in those pics! Gag. I'm thorough, but the patience required for this must have been brutal.

    The Outcome = f-ing PHENOMENAL!

Thanks for posting up, and for saving a good Datsun from its previous ghettotastic abuse :-) Hope to see this car on the cover of Project Car or Modified Mag soon!

  • for a second i the yellow version was the final heh

    nice job

  • Looks delicious

  • good vid.. nice editing!

  • you should bring it to chicago sometime. i have a cressida that wants to play :-)

  • Thank god you kept the original engine. So many people fuck this car up by replacing them with some american garbage v8 crate motor. People if you buy a Datsun Z either rebuild the engine or replace it with another datsun/nissan inline six.

  • what year?

  • i like the car alot! but man u should kept all the orginal parts that worked..it's a classic car u have to keep it original..ESPECIALLY the rims

  • Looks like a 65 Fastback and a Porsche 911 had a baby.

  • hey nice z ,i have a 280z my self do you have to do some modification to make fit the 240z bumper and the front turn signals??

  • you gave me hope to finish my 240z thank you and great car dude you completely transformed that car =)

  • @MrSotenacious Thanks! Find your vision of your car and stick to it. Even when it gets tough.

  • how much did you pay for it when u first got it, how much did u spend over the 3 years restoring it? and how much is it worth now?

mate this car is a fucking beast!!

something i need round my end not seen one of these for years

  • @MrLegend139 I bought it without a title for 1,500. I have about more 2,500 invested. I did all the work myself so its possible to work with a budget. I don't know what its worth now. To me its worth alot more than money.

  • HEY DO YOU WORK AT THAT COLLISION SHOP ON 7TH STREET ACROSS THE MONTGOMERY PLAZA?

  • great build , loved the final look

  • @SoUlFindErAmAtEuR Thanks! I'm not sure I follow you on the tokyo drift reference though. ha

  • datsun 280z is my dream car i must have it one day . jizzinmypants

  • GREETINGS FROM FT.WORTH! WHAT A GREAT FIND!!

  • @ITSaLIFESTYLEinc hahaha Thanks!!

  • She's so beautiful!!!! keep up the good work man

  • @LordCuddlez Thanks!! Its been alot of work but I still have alot of plans for her this summer. I'll have to post a updated video.

  • curious about the paint. Satin black? From a can? I like it.

  • @heavyweight328 Thanks man. Its actually a primer sealer that won't absorb moisture like regular primer. I sprayed it with a gun for a smooth uniform coat. I'll be painted black with a cherry pearl when the money comes in after school... that's the plan anyway we'll see.

  • @240zxfanatic First off, if I ever get to do this it's either going to take me 10 years to do it, or I'll end up spending much more that $5,000 taking it to body shops. Awesome job. But I'm curious, what's the difference between this primer sealer and a matte paint? Personally I really love the paint job as is, but is a primer sealer (I really don't know much about this) really just supposed to be a precursor to a "real" paint job, or could you keep it that way?

  • I'm not a big fan of the no rear bumper look. Only because you lose the protection in case of an accident. I like how you converted the fronts to the early bumpers, should have done the same for the rear. But hey its your car and looks nice...can't hate. Shame on the previous owner with the yellow themed out interior though. That's just tasteless. My Z had a blue theme going on when I bought it. I know how you felt. BTW was that a school bus in your driveway? You should build that next.

  • @UR2H Thanks for the comment man. I have a bumper and custom brackets for the back too. I just haven't decided on putting it on or not. btw I'm pretty sure that the 240z bumpers are worthless in a wreck haha.

  • where did u get the rims ? love the car i have a 1983 280zx im doing now

  • @deatons280zx I got them from rota wheels. Great wheels at a good price=good value. I've seen a set of these on lowered 280zx and damn they look gooood. Good luck with the car!

  • OH before I forget just a few questions. What offset are the rims, are they 0, and do you have any rubbing issues at all? Thanks

  • @superjump01 I wish I could give you a direct answer. It has been a while since I put the wheels on and did all the measurements. Sorry. It depends on the generation of Z, tires, suspension and the look you want. I got these 17x8.5 wheels with 225 tires to fit without any rubbing, with stock spring width and without sticking past the fenders to keep a clean look. check hybridz.org if you haven't already and rota.

  • 0:45 WOW! I think I personally would have just cut that out and welded a patch. And GOD is that ever too much yellow on 1 car.

  • @superjump0 I bought the car from texas sight unseen hoping that it was rust free. It was rust free but it was in a accident when the owner told me otherwise. It was full of bondo. I ended up replacing the whole quarter. I think it turned great though. Thanks for the comment. Its Z season finally!

  • @superjump01 I did cut it out and put in a quarter. After I stripped the car I found out the owner lied when he said it had never been in a accident. I haaaated that yellow with a passion haha. Previous owner was obviously a dumbass. 95% rust free though. Thanks for the comment man.

  • Love it!

  • @TheColldog1 Thanks! Means alot.

  • Nice Z man! I am 40 and have had 4 in my life. Currently I am down to one nice original. I love your tastes. No bumper in the back and a nice little one in the front.

  • @0260N3 Make a video telling your story! I love watching those!

  • nice z bro hopefully i get my 280z fix like your's!. How did you repaired your dash??

  • @martin9502 Its a cover sold by MSA. Looks and fits great.

  • how much money do you have into your car?

  • @MrGalaxieman about 5 grand. It can be done on a budget. Another reason I love Z's. Just have to have a plan. The engine, body, interior and suspension where in solid shape. Just needed ran through and reworked.

  • nice, i would love to know why ppl would destroy such a nice car. Nice gob on making it a great car again the other owner should ashamed.

  • @damico123456 Thanks! I know, what was that guy thinking? Its hard to make these cars look bad. Just keep it simple and clean. It was fun bringing it back to life.

  • from awful, to amazing!

    she's beautiful man tastefully done!

  • @AstroandyQQM Thanks for the compliment! Its cool you appreciate the clean look too.
