I saw this movie a few days ago and it was so funny! A bit predicable, but the humor makes up for it. THIS WAS SO MUCH BETTER THAN ALPHA AND OMEGA!

Of course, in reality, no macaw species has a crest of any kind, but hey, it's a lot better than, I don't know, WOLVES WITH HUMAN HAIR!

However, due to Happy Feet and Surf's Up, they had changed the concept to it being birds native of Rio. Since the films came out around 2006-2007, it's safe to say the directors choice to use blue macaws as the main characters occurred sometime in 2007 to early 2008.
