  • Well people who survived could tell them that it broke a part...

  • weird cus the titanic broke inn half

  • @theps3man187 they didn't know that back then.

  • Okay, I just know that not all the people were singing when the ship sank they were running for their life. Of course the 1997 version was the only movie to take to account that the ship broke it's back when it sank.

  • I think why it looks so fake is because back in those days they didn"t really know how it truly went down.............

  • 1953 made me cry more than the 90's

  • I'm glad James Cameron decided to make another movie about titanic

  • was this the real footage from the night it really sank and not from the movie?

  • @AbigailBreslinRocks Noo.. LOL. There is no real footage of it actually sinking.

  • @AbigailBreslinRocks No, sorry. But there are 2 real pictures of it sinking. I'm sure you can find it somewhere.

  • I highly doubt very many people would be singing when they are plummating to their deaths. I mean, I can see the people that were in the life boats singing, but if it were me still on that boat, I would climb to the top and hold on, not just sit there and sing. O.O

  • @thedanielalan1 It's humorous though, how in the '50s the best they could do was a toy boat... LOL

  • Why is it black and white? o:

  • @LouiseLullo During the 50s and early 60s when black and white was still mainstream, many filmmakers would opt for it in horror films or dramas for different reasons such as dramatic effect. Same thing happened with Hitchcock's "Psycho".

  • and the ship is fake!

  • @thedanielalan1 they didnt know that it split backs in the '50's cuz they didnt know where the wreck was or how to go down and look at it. This was just a guess of how it sank. That's why it didn't crack.

  • @wheelsy0499 why didnt the survivers tell them?

  • @thedanielalan1 because so few survivors believed that it spit. Then even still, so many people believe she was a strong ship so that she couldnt have broken.

  • @wheelsy0499 well the y found empress of ireland in 1914

  • IT DIDNT SPLIT!

  • Yeah, I goofed...IDA Straus

  • Somehow I doubt Isidor and Hannah Straus would know the words to the hymn.

  • I have the transcripts from the senate trials days after the sinking, most people witnessed the Titanic breaking in two. A few survivors even thought the stern was gonna stay afloat.

  • Yeah, because that's EXACTLY how the Titanic sank. I can let the not breaking in half part go, because they didn't know it broke in half yet, but first of all, in 1912, THERE WERE NO SIRENS! That's why half the people on the Titanic didn't even know something was wrong until it was too late. And everyone holding hands singing as the ship sinks? Crap. Every survivor describes chaos. Pure chaos. And how DOES EVERYONE know the words to Nearer My God to Thee, anyways?

  • For all of you that say "Oh, it looks fake, this isn't correct, there were less survivors." This was made in 1953 before that had amazing special effects, before they found out the titanic sank in 2 pieces, and before they found out how many people correctly died! 712 is pretty close to the actual amount. It even says in the titanic "1953"!

  • @matrixfan127 For me, it looks fake not because of the sinking (that I can understand, there were no special effects and so on), but because of those goddamned people SINGING. I mean, what the fuck?! When you're this close to die a horrible death, singing must be the last thing that crosses your mind.

  • This versian looks so fake.

  • I thought Titanic separated and then sank?

  • @DynastyW6 It did, but they found that out in 1985, when they dicovered the wreck, but before then, experts thought it sank in one piece, although survivors did say it broke in two.

  • @carnagekids only one survivor said that Titanic broke in a half, but no one believe him cause he was 16 years old. You can see the documentary movie "Titanic: the last secret" on National Geographic HD.

  • @DynastyW6 it did, but many said it split. They found out it didnt when the found the wreck

  • @DynastyW6 yeah it did, this was based on a lifeboat survivor mabey and they never saw it split they just heard that boom

  • this version was produced by 20th Century Fox in 1953,A Night to Remember was produced in the UK by Rank. The Fox climax shown here is erroneous only because

many of the fact surrounding the sinking were then unknown.A Night to Remember is based on Walter Lord's book of the same title & hence is a far more accurate retelling.Fox's version while inaccurate still has an emotional punch the 97 version somehow lacks, even for all its technical superiority it somehow feels souless.

  • Yes, cos when you're on the brink of death you always start singing

  • god bless the people who died

  • the owners of titanic actually tried to hide the fact that she split because they didnt want her to be viewed as having a weak spot, thats why there was such a debate over her spliting

  • if you wanna know why the sinking isnt right, it because in 1953 they thought the titanic sunk "intact"

  • This has to be the best Love Story ever told! <3

  • @XmcrXmadfanX

I think maybe you're confused. This is not the love story, Titanic (1997).

It's the cheaper Hollywood version of A Night to Remember. Even the sets in this one movie look cheaper than any other telling of the Titanic sinking I've ever seen. They're singing Nearer My God to Thee while sinking! But, this version has some solid acting from great stars like Barbara Stanwyk, what's new? lol.

  • I first seen this movie when I was 12 and I thought It was absolutely horrible.

So many obvious factual errors, not only that but does anyone else notice how quick the mood changes from "see you in new york darling" to "its the end son"????? And how come when the ships going down instead of making a try for it atleast they just stop and start singing?

  • @Blackdragon52k They knew they couldn't get off in time. So they sang a hymn as their last well doing.

  • oh wow this SUCKS ASS the sinking isnt even right and they didnt have that FUCKING ANNOYING ALARM

  • 712 is the incorrect number of people who survived, it was 706
