I saw this show every night, and greg would practically beg producers for a movie part! And he finally got a part in some big movie, and it launched a giant movie career. And phil and Chris and Belushi, I saw them all, thanks for the memories!
You may remember me from such educational films: "2 Minus 3 Equals Negative Fun", "Lead Paint: Delicious BUT Deadly", and "Here Comes The Metric System."
I'm here to talk about the frank and simple facts about sex, and now:
According to Wiki, Phil was a graphic artist who did voices for fun, needed a better social outlet so one day while watching the comedy troop the Groundlings, he just jumped on stage and became part of the cast XDD There he helped Paul Reubens develop the Pee-wee Herman character! <3

Phil hARTMAN WAS AMAZING. I miss him. I know we all do. Thank you for posting this. I definitly appreciate him and his comedy now that I'm older. He was a brilliant actor/comedian
Hey Phil Hartman fans, Phil started a cartoon back in the 1970's called the Secret World of Edgar Screw Head, now in the works by Phil's brother Paul and friend John Paragon. It's really funny! Check it out on Facebook and have fun with it! Also, Google it to see the new live site! It'll be awesome having Phil Hartman's work back on tv again!
@dalemccartney thanks so much for that info homie. iv been on a phil hartman buzz for the past couple of weeks, and iv found myself watching the same vids over and over again. thanks man, some phil stuff i havent seen before will be nice to see :) peace out
@SoJuiceySoWeedy Anytime, man! I'll post occasionally to get the word out. Hope to see you on Facebook. Phil's brother is just as funny as Phil. Also, check out Phil Hartman for Walk of Fame while you're there. Next Friday, Sept. 24th is Phil's 62nd birthday and they want to kick off nominations for the Canada Walk of Fame. It's also the site for Phil's Hollywood Walk of Fame nomination. Take care man!
Anyway, I never watched this show, but the host seems to have done a pretty terrible job at picking up Hartman's cues. Phil was giving him loads of stuff to work with and the guy didn't know what to do with it...
hartman is giving him great material... and four times he mentions -- are scared, worried, apprehensive of leaving your job. They even shoddily did a cut-away when the audience didn't respond to hartman's vulture joke...
phil should of just shot back... mate i'm sweet, buy reading todays 'wire' your shows approaching it's last chances
Later with Greg Kinnear only ran from 1994-1996, so It has to be somewhere around there. I didnt watch all of the tape, but if Hartman mentioned a certain project, I guess you could tie it down on dates, if you really want to know. Great guy, tho.
Phil Hartman left SNL in 94 and the movie he discusses in the clip from Later with Greg Kinnear is Greedy, which also came out in 94. Kinnear was only on air a little more than a yr and a half after this clip. He had no idea how famous he was going to be.
If you've ever watched Phil Hartman's impersonation of Clinton, you'll see that Hartman doesn't really sound like Clinton, but he does sound (and look) exactly like Tim McCarver ( the baseball commentator).
Later was a talk show that appeared after Letterman (back when he was on after Tonight Show) and Bob Costas was the original host. Kinnear hosted for a while after Conan took over Late Night, and eventually the show evolved into Last Call with Carson Daly. Despite being way before my time, I remember seeing Costas episodes frequently.
Phil Hartman was great. my favorite S.N.L. skits he played as the perverted uncle? or babysitter? with a poloroid camera taking shots of young girls sliding down the banister backward, and of course, in the lord and lady douche bag skit. Can anybody provide me with a link to watch either or both? RSVP.!!! Phil was Great!

Go Phil Hartman with your bad self!!! I can see why Greg called him Renesscance Man because of how talented and nice and happy he was about living. It's a shame he isn't here anymore. He'd still be making us laugh.
I just read on Wikipedia that his wife shot him 6 times around the mouth with a revolver while he was sleeping then she went and confessed it to a friend and they went back to the murder scene and she shot herself in the temple.
ICAM! His talent made him beautiful, and I always thought he was the best-looking guy I've ever seen on SNL, and I particularly have never found any comedian attractive, but Phil was very attractive, and he had the BEST voice!
A great upload and tribute to this american comedian icon. It's a shame what happened to Phil, but he lives on through his amazing performances. Thanx for the Upload
To be more politically correct, Phil was a German-Canadian-American, and he will always be an icon in Canada and in America, he was living in America for a long time, so he's more American than Canadian really, but he has that Canadian kindness about him that really shined through, and I didn't realize he was from Canada until a couple of years ago.
He was just simply incredible, and if God truly did come in any form to Earth, it was in the form of Phil. When he died, all of us just kind of felt a sense of loss, and I've never been so heartbroken over a celebrity's death than I have over Phil's.
