  • good job .....

  • 747 filipino airline?

  • PAL means Plane always late

  • Thats why filipinos r the best pilots lol.

  • thats why filipino are the best Pilots! in the world! :D

  • PAL Pilots are to be Filipino (required), they are good because most of them came from Philippine Air Force, used to dealing with Aircraft Troubles in flight!!! Imagine what planes they have to train with and what planes to fly when they graduate from PAF Flying School.

  • @dot109 so does the other airlines in the world. majority of their pilots are from their air force where in fact use more advance aircraft than that of our air force aircraft which are almost a scrap.

  • @vernie4163 That's agreed, if you've been at the 17th Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, you will pity how they've got these grumpy s-211 trainer jet fitted for multi-role combat, the OV-10 and their Heli's... all oldies and grandpa's based on how they look but still performs well. Got a chance to be in the cockpit of the S-211 and saw the age is taking it's toll to the aircraft itself....

  • sana naman matapos na ang problema ng PAL/ Palea...i salute all pilots and crew members of our nation's flag carrier...

  • @ 3:07 two blown tigers ?

  • @MichaelKaponi yeah there is nothing extraordinary with the landing. several pilots in the world even land with a unlocked or totally damaged landing gear. which means the airplane must skid in the runway by its belly. however still a good job. just like every pilot in the world can.

  • GO PHILIPPINE AIRLINES!!!!!!!!

  • almost all Filipino commercial pilots were former Air force pilots...that's why they're used to emergency landings...lol.

  • FILIPINOS ARE WELL-TRAINED !! :))

  • Bravo. Filipino pilot ata yan. Were proud of you pilot. Good Job

  • FILIPINO PILOT IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD

  • Dko alm kung nasusunod pa ba to ngayon.

  • Respond to this video... opo

  • ummm....it's Philippine Airlines....not Filipino Airlines :)

  • putang proud to be filipino

    OA na masyado:))

  • it was an Australian pilot landing the 747

  • @jacsparroww really? do Fils. and Australians look alike?!

  • @Gotenks548 yep mate we do have naturalised phillipino ppl here

  • @jacsparroww T'was said in the news that the pilot was a Filipino.... and his name was Filipino.

  • Proud to be PINOY

  • Philippine's planes are the worse planes ever..but they have best pilots tho.. poor pilots.

  • PAL pilots are well trained, if you read all the information of pal pilots they are all grad. of phil. airforce..it is a good signed for the phil. airforce...saving 400 souls on board and 20 crew members.

  • @eastern865 not all.. Many are also graduates from PAL Avschool which is one of the best in Asia...

  • PAL pilots are veteran philippines air force.

But they are no.1 airliner expensive ticket though

  • Great Pilot ☺

  • Aren't those airplane mechanics of Philippine Airlines, FILIPINOS too??? Should I still be proud of them kasi PINOY sila??? Hhmmm...if you don't get the point then don't bother thinking...cause it might just drain you...lol!!

  • @sablo75 Blown tires is a result of a debris from the runway being runned over by the plane upon its take off. Not the fault of local aero mechanics...

  • Great! Thanks for the information! PAL should be flown by Filipino pilots (I think).

  • @SuperJazzgirl All pilots in PAL are Filipinos.. Its a requirement.. :-)

  • @marcbryanchan well not all my flight going to honolulu one of the pilot was Chinese.

  • @pnoi808 Many pilots in PAL are Filipino Chinese.. One example is the daughter of Lucio Tan.

  • you never EVER EVER EVER try to land on the numbers......

  • salute to the pilot ...and this is an alarm for maintenance engineers to do their job well

  • gave me goosebumps!

  • grabe... kaka proud maging pinoy

  • kudos to the pilot !!!!!!!

  • galing ng pinoy!

  • @Genocide08 - more likely magaling yung PILOT!!

^^, Great job CAPT. EFREN ENVERGA!

  • @Genocide08 - good for you! I hope you become like him someday...again NOT just because he's PINOY BUT because he's a good pilot...wawa naman yung ibang pilot na ibang nationality...parang hindi sila magaling kasi hindi sila "PINOY"...I'm just saying. In order to succeed one must become humble!

  • @sablo75 : very well said bro. maybe nagkataon lang na di nalalagay sa ganyang sitwasyon yung ibang airlines ng ibang country... cguro pag me nangyare ng ganyang sitwasyon at ang involve ay ibang airline then we will see how they handle or deal with the situation... balitaan mo na lang ako.. peace bro.

  • @ihateyoupapi - FYI: I'm every woman!

  • Galing!

  • AWESOME JOB CAPTAIN EFREN ENVERGA!!!

  • @galtamiranoerald kindly check 2:09

  • to Capt. Efren Envergan and your crew..saludo po ako sa inyo!!

  • Comment removed

  • @galtamiranoerald - 2:09 i heard from the reporter that a pilot is british from long beach came back and make a safe touch down, am i right?? i don't know if what i heard is right haha.

  • @galtamiranoerald 2:09 i heard from the reporter that a pilot is british from long beach came back and make a safe touch down, am i right?? i don't know if what i heard is right haha.

  • @daireyou no his not a german, because the philippine airline doesnt hired foreigner. always pilipino citizen.

  • BRAVO FILIPINO!.... job well done... Congratz also to Mr. Lucio Tan for giving the proper training to his airline pilots.. These shows that PAL airline pilots are all well-trained.. Keep it up! This is one of the things i can say... I'M PROUD TO BE A FILIPINO.

  • @jat399 oa nmn

  • @jat399 di ka naman masyadong proud niyan? haha

  • hey i live in PV :D

  • Time of the Video: 9 11

  • yes magaganda mga piloto ng PAL yehey

  • MABUHAY ANG PHILIPPINE AIRLINES!!!! ANOTHER MANNY PACQUIAO MOMENT FOR THE PHILIPPINES

  • I have not seen this on tv! thanks to you buddy!

  • no surprise there. most filipino commercial pilots transferred from the Philippine airforce to look for greener pasture.

  • Passengers were usually not informed because it may cause paranoia, heart attacks, panic, and actions that we are capable of in extreme stress or panic thus hindering the crew from performing emergency evacuation procedure effectively..in short, it will do more harm than good..

  • @bucai1315 - Finally! Someone who uses their brain than their mouth when making comments. Some people won't just get what you just said.

  • Manila control tower informed flight deck crew that debris was observed to have fallen from the aircraft during take-off. Later, it was confirmed by the flight deck with the cabin crew that they will be having a PLANNED emergency terrain landing. KUDOS to Captain Enverga, F/O Baniqued. Second officers Seria and Misa!

  • That is insane!!! Philippine airlines pilots are awesome!!!

  • GOOSEBUMPS! THanks to the pilots' presence of mind!

  • wow, that's a really skillful pilot you got there!

  • I'm one of the pasenger of that plane. Thank God I've arrived safely. :)

  • Reason why I feel safest flying with Philippine airlines. They've got some of the best pilots! Kudos!

  • ang galing ng pilot ng plane na ito! he saved 400 lives..very, very impressive to the captain & crew of this flight!

  • Reporter says will ask the passenger what's it like inside the plane during the emergency landing . .WTF. .of course ,it's f......king scary ,what do you think? Stupid reporter...

  • @freakinSPleNdiD LOL.. I heard in the news that passengers have no idea what was going on. They were just surprised there were emergency vehicles following their aircraft..

  • Bravo to KCAL News 9! the best coverage of all newsbreak , every moment was reported in details.

  • TOUCHDOWN!!!!

FACT: Filipino pilots are considered as ONE of the BEST pilots in the world. They go through intensive training, they practice at short runways to name one is Honolulu International Airport...the best ones

  • @gsograce TUMAHIMIK KA NA, WAG KA NG SATSAT NG SATSAT, DAHIL MADAMING MAGALING NG PILOTO MALIBAN SA PILIPINO! LET OTHER'S BE THE JUDGE, WAG MONG ITAAS ANG SARILING UPUAN!!!

  • Well done to the pilot and crew for keeping your cool under pressure and keeping everyone safe!

  • how did they know they had a flat tire?

  • PAL pilots don't just rely on their instruments but also their instincts, that's why their so damn good!

  • @marcbryanchan are u saying other pilots dont have instinct??? u fool just shut the fuk up.

  • Comment removed

  • @katy6543210 This video shows Philippine Airlines. If it were showing other airlines, I would probably say the same thing. But then let me rephrase, "Trained pilots don't just rely on their instruments but also their instincts, that's why their so damn good!".. Happy? By the way, (u fool just shut the fuk up) to you too... Go to school and learn how to spell you mentally challenged imbecile.

  • @marcbryanchan school don't teach things like conciseness and speed of typing to post on web u fool

  • @katy6543210 please take your rudeness somewhere else...

  • @fsxfanatic - hhmmm knowledge of the pilot...hhmmm warning signal...planes are not cars.

  • Thought always delayed but Im proud of our Carrier Airlines (PAL ), they always see that their passengers are safe....10 Thumbs for the PILOT and Crew.

  • @pearlayala u mean "Though" not Thought :S... what makes u think other airline care less about their passenger's safety???!!! isa ka pang hayupak.

  • Philippine airline's pilot are the best! they can make soft landings!!

  • @ellisonuevld FUK U ASS HOLE HAHAHA

  • @elisabettavzovd FUK U ASS HOLE

  • DAMING UMIEPAL SA BABA! #pathetic! EH DI KAYO NA MAG.PILOT.!

  • lets just all be thankful that nobody is hurt :))

  • OMG. This was the very plane that took me back home to the Philippines a few hours ago (we arrived Sun August 28, 8 am Philippine time). I didn't know that it had TWO blown tires, nobody from LAX or PAL explained to us what was going on. I commend the PAL pilot and crew team for their great work, but I would've also greatly appreciated LAX telling us why our original boarding time of Fri August 26, 10:30 pm was changed to Sat August 27, 2 am.

  • this doesn't deserve a praise and this is not something to be proud of. NOT AT ALL! these just goes to show how poorly maintained these planes are and how bad these people are in terms of checking these planes before departures and after arrivals. No wonder the British government warn their people to avoid flying with Philippine-certified airlines. Search "British Travel Advisory website" and look for Philippines, then read bullet number 5:

  • @mizever2004 - you gotta point there, too!

  • UMPISA NA NAMAN ANG INUTIL!! ANO MAN ANG LAHI NG PILOTO, HE SAVED 400 LIVES!!! GREAT PILOT!!! PERO UN IBANG EPAL WAG NG MAKI PROUD PROUD!!! NAKAKAHIYA KAYO MGA PUNYETA! MAHILIG SA PAGALINGAN NG LOLO PUTANGINA!!! SUCH A DISGRACE!!! TUMIGIL NA KAYO!!!

  • thanks GOD ligtas lahat sila .

  • whoever that pilot is..... job well done for your unbelievable skills...passenger's safety really relies on you....

  • i heard that the pilot is a british

  • @daireyou There are no british pilots in PAL

  • Are you sure the pilot is a Filipino? I thought the Filipino pilots have resigned from PAL.

  • @SuperJazzgirl Not all Filipino pilots resigned. They hired new pilots, who happen to be Filipinos, too.

  • It's not important what nationality the pilot is,what is important here is he displayed an awesome skill in landing the plane and saved about 400 lives.

  • @pauldamedtech - Exactly!!!

  • Magagaling talag mga Filipino Pilots kaya nga pinipirata ng mga mas malalaking Airlines yang mga yan eh... as usual baba daw ng suweldo... pero 500K a month maliit pa ba yon? hehehe

  • Just so you know most of the pilots in Philippine airlines are foreigner so....stop being too proud. LOL

  • @rapamano From GMAnews.tv : "PAL officially declined to release any of the pilots' names, but PAL sources said the captain on the flight was Efren N. Enverga, who was assisted by co-pilots Mark Baniqued, Mark Victor Misa, and Villamor Feria Jr. " (sounds all Filipino)... and if ever he was British, Mongolian, German or whatever nationality, he's still flying the flag carrier and that means he represents the country. Posting negative comments in situations like this is beyond me.

  • @rapamano just so you know their are "NO foreigner pilot" hired in Philippine Airlines. So stop being stupid! You can kill yourself now.

  • @rapamano Just so you know, too; there are no foreigners on the PAL's roster of pilots.

  • @rapamano #pathetic.

  • @rapamano just so you know, Philippine Airlines are not hiring any foreign pilots, it is certified that they're filipino citizens and still whatever nationality it is, he is still holding the Philippine flag as you can see in the plane.

  • kudos sa pilot!!! PERO TAMA NA ANG MGA HAMBOG DAHIL PAGTATAWANAN NA NMN TAYO... MATUTO KAYO NG MODESTY AND HUMBLENESS!!! WAG ITAAS ANG SARILING UPUAN!!! MAGALING ANG PILOTO PERO WAG KAYO MAGYABANG DAHIL DI KAYO KASING GALING NG PILOTO!!! UNG KAGALINGAN NG PILOTO E KANYA LANG UN, HINDI KAYO KASALI!!!

  • that what filipino pilot trained for....

  • what the heck?!! our airline name is PHILIPPINE AIRLINES not FILIPINO AIRLINES....oh,i'm sorry

  • we are very proud to be a Filipino!!imagine you save 420 lives?i want to congratulate the captain for a job well done.even they getting a rough salaries. We are still concern on the safety of our people.not for money...:)

  • Yan ang Pinoy! :)

  • @edwardomiguelroldan engot british nga daw yung pilot lol

  • good job captain.

  • PAL has no crashes ever since it crashed.

  • @aceallen12 tama ka jan,. buti nalang..

  • @aceallen12 hahhahah

  • Comment removed

  • Wow! ang galeng ng piloto :)

  • @ramon888999--Please don't insinuate any negative issues like low morale of pilots, etc. This incident could have caused more than 400 passengers their lives. The captain handled the situation expertly. It just goes to show that PAL has excellent and well-trained pilots. The pilot wouldn't have executed the emergency landing excellently if not for that fact. So quit adding intrigue to this incident, what you're insinuating is unrelated to this. Job well done CAPTAIN!

  • Proud to be Filipino!

  • Props to Capt Efren Enverga and crew. Good job !!

  • Then the FAA should grant us the higher category again, we have been downgraded by the FAA. FAA shouldn't just downgrade us because we are a third world country. We have world class pilots, grade A's to be specific. But only just, if they only get better salaries. Anyway, great job for an UNDERPAID pilot.

  • @HeroshiKurashiwa your'e partly correct when you said we have good pilots. we may.. or may not.. but again, FAA does not only look at pilot skills in judging category. there's kind of planes used, new or factory refreshed, etc. and standards an airline should pass (does ISO sound familiar to you?). Google "British Travel Advisory Website" and look for Philippines. Under travel summary, read Bullet 5. British Gov't is warning their people to avoid flying with Philippine-certified airlines

  • @mizever2004 they don't report to you period.

  • @mizever2004 wrong post sorry lol

  • @mizever2004 yeah, i know the ISO thing, I know the reasons why we got downgraded, it's because of management issues, in general. being owned and managed by cheap (ethnicity comment not to be posted) sorry kung may matamaan. I have been working for some org for 4 years without any salary, but I get the job done. it's the heart that matters, not the money.

  • @HeroshiKurashiwa it's not the heart... high world standard SKILL is all it takes! stop babbling.

  • @katy6543210 who's babbling? if you don't know the language I am speaking, don't complain. And hey I am just saying, world standards cannot be met if anything are managed by cheapness.

  • Mabuhay ang PAL crew!

  • It's great to know we have skilled pilots (they got it right the second time around), but the fact remains that maintenance is a problem. Did I hear it's because of low morale due to low salary, that's why it's A ok to put 400+ lives in jeopardy?

  • @ramon888999 They flew by the first time so the people on the ground could visually inspect the wheels with spotlights as it went by, it was on purpose, not them getting it wrong. Kudos to the pilots for handling the plane expertly. How to get the mechanics (or PAL) to take better care of their equipment so this won't happen again. We all must trust that airline with the lives of our precious families, me included!

  • @gagokahno Thanks for the correction.

  • If it's on visual conditions; any pilot can land a plane without a sweat.

  • Now if the mechanics were as good as the pilots, this might not have happened. Our friends flight was cancelled last weekend due to mechanical problems. It's not just plane always late, it's plane always loko

  • Is this the same fleet that made an emergency landing @ the Sapporo Intl. Airport? If it was, that plane needs an overhaul of sorts.

KUDOS to the pilots who took control of this flight. Superb landing!

  • Wheeew!!!

  • the truth of the matter is that We Filipinos are definitely incredible incident like this are just minor issues here in the Phlippines, Our trained Pilot have a good bunch of know how.. when extreme cases like this come there way.. Just think about this all junk of the 1st world countries fighter plane, naval ship, etc. when brought here in the philippines becomes our ultimate equipment no wonder why even the most .001% mistake of the foreign pilot can never slip to the eyes of the fil. pilot

Kudos to the Capt. though for a job well done...and not because he's Filipino. =)

  • @sablo75 I agree with you, at saka grabe na ang ating pakisawsaw sa mga achievements ng iba(PILIPINO). kelan kaya matauhan tayong mga filipino, yung di nakisawsaw sa mga achievements ng iba dahil sa boxing at dahil naka punta kay oprah. Di yan sa ating lahi sa skills yan nila :D
