The warden's son is in the manga, the warden dies a pretty boring death in the anime, the film adapts the one from the manga (meat grinder).

Except its way different. Originally it was just his arm that got ground, and he survived having his intestines exposed and hanging out before he died. He's more than an asshole... He's a fucking MONSTER.

Also Rogan isn't gay (or at least implied/stated). There's actual gay characters as the story goes on (as well as a pedophile who might be my favorite character).

And yeah I've reread some of the chapters too. It is difficult at parts, but there's not much really offensive towards Jews (just the mentioning of "Crystal Night" maybe, which here is something else entirely). So he'll be fine I think.
