  • anyone try installing a tv card or ssd in that slot?

  • windows 7 is a must for this model or any ion chipset. The chipset is crippled running xp.

  • use Splayer you can play 1080p movie easily.

  • Awesome. Thanks for the info. Surfing like crazy now for under 15 bucks! Why in the world wouldn't the company just install the wi-fi from the factory if it is so cheap and easy? Anyway, Good info.

  • @ThoriumManganate I know right?? When i found out the price of the card, I couldn't click buy now fast enough. Glad it was just as easy for you as it was for me!

  • Hi Tim, did you install the drivers for your card on windows or Linux? I'm looking to install one on a Revo with XBMC Live installed, which is linux-based. Thanks for the awesome tutorial!

  • Would it be possible to upgrade the processor of this thing??

    mine is an Atom 330

I wish I could put something stronger in the future.

  • @DrDenisSaralho

I don't think so... I am pretty sure that it is not removable from the mother board... Upgrade to 2gb of ram or more and install windows 7... its much faster!

  • @TimFields45

mine has come with Win7, and im upgrading to 4GB, but dont think it will help.

Gotta try to install the WinXP but dont know if I will find all the necessary drivers :(

  • What a deal $6 for a wireless card an antenna :D

I have question for you: did you have any luck playing 1080p videos on your Revo1600? mine plays 720p just fine but 1080p videos not so much. I update drivers and everything I think maybe I upgrade the ram to 2gb. Cheers

  • @LuisFelipeGD1978 I have had some issues trying to play 1080p... but I mainly use it for streaming Hulu and Netflix and I don't have any problems when streaming in "HD". I tested the graphics on the REVO with Passmark and it scored pretty low. Some additional RAM would definitely help out with the Video rendering... I don't thing the GPU has much built in memory.

  • @TimFields45 I also use Passmark and it scored pretty low but after I update the driver directly from the nvidia site and test again the result was much better. The amount of memory allocated for the GPU is 256mb but it can be change using the BIOS to 512mb but it wont do much unless you upgrade the memory. Cheers
