Brilliant video. Thank you. I saw her in her final days of being built at Glasgow. had the opportunity to see her four days after she launched and from that day. I fell in love with her. Sounds daft, I know. It was in August of 1988 that with my late wife we went one of of her cruises. Thank you so much for the video
These time-lapsed stills, taken from the Cunard website from the live bridge cam, are interesting. It's sad to see the flag change at the end, and that Cunard sold this great piece of history to tacky Dubai. She won't resemble a thing from her past now. I had a nightmare about it recently, the paint stripped, interiors gutted, and funnel removed. I travelled 6 crossings, including the final west/ Mary then east/Elizabeth, and it will never be the same. I miss miss miss her forever.
I'm going to miss this ship. As a child I was on her many times because my Mother who is from England is afraid to fly. So the only way between the US & UK was QE2
QE2 was SO special, just like Concorde.
I'm 25 and it is so sad to me that these amazing feats of engineering are now gone.

@Southerndown4 It's not daft at all. QE2 was a remarkable ship.

Why was the ship sold ?

@dixiewife47 QE2's original owners received $100m from Istithmar. It was an offer too good to refuse :)

Very clever idea - well done - I love the red flag waving in the breeze after she docks. So sad its the last voyage.

Queen Elizabeth 2 is no doubt a special Liner. We should be lucky Dubai brought her, it's better than better scrapped. I hope she open by 2012.
