The amount of smoke is all in the preperation of the hookah and the type of shisha and coals. I prefer the Japanese Quick Lite coals and Golden Al Fakher shisha. Load the bowl just below the rim very fairly loosely allowing air to easily flow through the bowl. Place two coal squares on top of a metal bowl-screen. Place wind-screen on hookah and allow coals to heat for two minutes. Try it indoors for best results.
