So, forgive my ignorance, but what is the... point? I'm not trying to be heterosexist, but I just don't understand the meaning of the drag show,. Is it to explore gender by seeing how people of the opposite sex play the gender role they feel comfortable in? Is it to experience a collective affirmation of the drag queen's inner identity? Is it just a campy laugh?

I'm trying NOT to be ignorant, which is WHY I am asking- because I WANT to help provide an environment that is trans-friendly. I'm trying to listen and find what about this appeals to others, so I can understand and help be more accepting of them.

I think ddl is accustomed to being defensive toward aggressive/ phobic people; that said, the "shut up and understand us" message makes me wonder how much he/she brings on just by being abrasive.
