For a city with so few people, there seems to be a shocking amount of litter lining the streets! Were there even any operating businesses other than a couple of gas stations? Wow. Where's the good part of town?
In the late 60's my father bought a home in East St. Louis @ 3025 Waverly as my family was about to move there from Chicago until my mother finally vetoed the idea. The end result,my father rented the house out and had my uncle (who lived in ESL and owned rental properties himself) collect rent for him and handle maintenance issues. They eventually sold the property and it's been years since I've been in the area. I wonder if it's still standing,it's not too far from the corner of Waverly & 25th
@soln4suhreborn We lived at 3904 Waverly - that house is totally destroyed now. The next time I am in the area I will look for 3025 and try to get a photo for you. Thanks for your comments.

I haven't seen this side of town in decades. I used to attend the then Alpha Agape SDA Church on Bushmore when I was a kid.

I hate living next to that place, it used to be such a beautiful city but look now it is over run with poverty, crime, gangs, and decay. such a waste
