There is a historic consensus that it was one refined and elegant enlightenment in the Roman history. Yet I totally agree with u about the Etruscan and Greek civilizations. After all, Rome was a melting pot, a conglomerate & a miniature example of the old world

So of you're trying to make a point that Rome's downfall was their iron fisted mentality then i guess you're right but America's motives are different.
