got an rx8 now and made it as fast as stock srt 4 from 2nd gear roll and way better around corners. I loved the srt 4 but: TP sensor problems, no skid control and too short a first gear; oh and i forgot its fwd lol this would be the best car rwd. try a 20 b rx7 or 8 and be faster-look better-and actually be able to accelerate throughout a whole turn without losing traction. ever get wheel hop? ya you wont have to brake and power out unless you are drifting with rwd. i dont mean to rant here

@kevvsky Sure, the turbo can spin backwards. When you lift off the throttle, all the drive pressure (exhaust pressure) goes away, and all the air pressurised into the intake (, boost pressure) can push back out of the intake and turn the turbo backwards. Remember, the pressure in the intake is oushing out in all directions, and when the impeller isn;t being driven (no drivepressure) the intake charge can turn it backwards while exiting out the air intake. This is why bov's were invented.

@caniwitech turbo will never ever spin backwards exhaust will always be ''pushing'' the drive wheel of the turbo, and the compressor wheel wont spin backwards the air just passes thru(sorry i dont know the word).

@kevvsky Yes it can. , When the throttle is closed, there is very very little exhaust flow. under a high boost situation, when the throttle is sudenly closed, the air inbetween the throttle blade and the turbo is still under pressure, and pushes bcak through the turbuine, and can easily turn it backwards. It's comonly refered to as turbo "bark" and can ruin the bushings the shaft rides on. This is precisely the purpose of a blow off valve, to relieve pressure when the throttle is closed.

Valves opening too late, you're still venting to the atmosphere but some of that pressure is getting rerouted through the compressor blades and creating turbulance ie: a form of comp. surge, although not the truly bad kind. My guess is the spring was not adjusted properly. You probably adjusted it to alter the sound of the valve, no?

I hope you told the next owner that you had adjusted the valve poorly. Too much of that and you'll fuck the shaft or bend a blade.

Compressor surge only happens under boost. Not off boost, i.e lifting off the throttle. You'll only get compressor suge on HIGH boost applications. Not on somthing running only 14-18 even 20lb's of boost. People need to get over this whole "compressor suge" phenomenon.

You got the line hooked up to the wrong nipple on the BOV. all your hearing is the Air escaping out the compressor of the turbo itself. BAD!!! Open your hood and rev the car up and listen to it. Put ur hand infront of the BOV and see if any air comes out of the BOV. All your hearing is turbo flutter. can damage the turbo big time. Your BOv isn't even opening. Test it and let us know.

@antmansohcvtec People alwasy have a misconception about turbo flutter as they think it makes the blades spin backwards but its actually never been proven that it in fact does that and in turn to casue damage to your turbo. A bov in most cases people just think it sounds cool, an internal wastegate is much safer

I've since adjusted it but it's still sounding similar. This was the best spot to keep it at to prevent it from leaking on a boost leak test at 20psi. I over exaggerated the hits by goosing the throttle before each shift for the video. It isn't that "exhausting" lol with normal driving.
