  • Hmm I thought that the membrane was there to protect the newt formed embryo whilst it is in development. What I mean is, isnt the membrane there to stop anything iterferring with it's Asexual reproduction? Is it it just me needing to revise more haha

    It does both. Protects against polyspermy and later protects the developing zygote.
