First of all, I don't understand why everybody thinks that this is an Ayahuasca experience. If yo pay more attention to this movie you can see that there are growing Peyote plants in these sacred mountains. The most important substance of Peyote is mescaline and not DMT like in Ayahuasca. And please don't call any of these devine experiences a ' drugs '. They are sacred to many people including myself.
movies and books can only explain so much of the experience. There are also emotional and ego hallucinations that happen. And those just can't be virtualized on a youtube vid. You just won't ever know til you try these things. They may not be the answer to enlightenment but they may shed some light on what is a whole other realm of existence. That is beneficial in itself. There is something else. If you want to find it , you will.

But in one scene, they show the ayawaska root and leaves next to a prepared bowl of ayawaska, which the main characters nemesis drinks from. The director used his personal experience with Shipibo Ayawaska ceremonies to create the visuals, and brought in a Shipibo shaman to chant for the movie. You can find all this on Wikipedia or a simple google search.

This is not an Ayahuasca trip...it is a Peyote and San Pedro healing.
Ayahuasca is used further south than where this takes place and by different people than the Apache area people that this movie is about. This is serious medicine and not for recreational use...those that heal and are healed by this know...to use it otherwise is sacrilegious and frowned upon by those who know better.

@tzeH2O you need to have a small chemistry set. with the ayahuasca you should freeze it, then grind it in a blender at least 4 times to get a good mix. then you need to change the ph levels. if you didn't pay attention chemistry class or never used chemicals, then this could be really hard to do for. if you do dmt, have a recorder on stand and talk about what you experienced to the best of your ability as the memory will leave you. an ego death is most intense.

I think that this brew was made out of cacti. It's not Ayahuasca. Ayahuasca is native to South America and wasn't available for the Native Northern Americans. Besides the cacti are shown many many times in this movie.

You're taken to a different world, and the entities/spirits that exist there, will talk to you, operate on you, and show you things you couldn't imagine. There is a reason local drug dealers don't sell Ayahuasca! The shaman's job is to protect you from the dark spirits in the space, and the ones coming out of you when you purge. You may 'trip' on chemical DMT, but Aya mixed with multiple trees and a shaman is different.

it is a completely personal and subjective experience. but that doesn't take away from it's validity. it's an amazing teacher. gets inside you and knows everything there is to know. mostly things you don't know yet. that's the disorienting part. finding the unknown and learning it is you.
but it is definitely not the great panacea. it's an amazing tourist guide to your unknown self but that's it. it will lead you to the recognition but the realization is up to each of us.

It does much more than make you see shit. And is no more dangerous or less dangerous than Ayahuasca. Anything can be over done. Neither are to be taken by someone who isn't ready.
i hate to know where you obtained your know how of acid. Its not made with battery acid its made with LSD which is Lysergic acid diethylamide not battry acid which is sulfuric acid with a cathode anode base structure such as lithium or lead.
Actually acid is a synthetic compound from the plant ergot. And I can tell you from personal experience that it can be a very educational experience. In fact the most enlightening experience I've ever had was on Acid. And what I learned in that 4 hours was no different then anything I've learned from intensive meditation and spiritual study since. DMT just makes you see shit too. Its up to YOU to use the experience in an educational manner, not the chemical catalyst.
I totally know what you mean, as I've done similar stuff (obviously not as hard-core) by means of hyperventilating. If you're one for experimentation, oh boy you gotta try it. you just take 10 deep breaths, preferably while lying down, then hold your breath and push down on it and stand up. sure you can just take 10 deep breaths for your first time but after you get used to it you invent new "techniques" (like lying down to breathe and standing up exactly 2 seconds after you hold your breath)

I tripped like every day when I was 16 till I was 17 was awsome for the first few days till I grew a tollerance and required more to have the same affect. Was up to 10 at one time and realized what kind of physical dammage I was doing to my body. But when you are paying less than 1 dollar for a trip its easy to get caught up. School work suffered and had a few encounters with the cops in the end.

Mental addictions are not restricted, and in most cases are much more dangerous.
Ayahuasca works different for everubody, I had Ayc, and my experience ( and my wife´s experience) was not at all alucinogenic, I never had visions or an LSD kind of trip. in my case was a deep sence of connection with myself, I made myself questions and i givemyself the answers. Nobody ever talks about Ayc, as a cleansing process, phycical and spiritual. Vomiting and cheat...g certainly cleanse your body.
Ayc is much more than a phsycodelic drink is a full cleansing of mind body ans spirit
peyote and mesc (the stuf in peyote) is hardly this powerful. You would need a good dose of DMT for this kind of experience. Mesc is hardly comparable to the power of DMT.
i dont think it is peyote in the movie notice the dark color of t he mixture and the twisted roots that were behind the cup that was grabbed in the grow room was twisted and looked very much like the caapi root used to make ayahuasca. there was peyote buttons in the room as well but the cup was near the roots, and peyote once made into a drink is greenish in color nor does the peyote drink notoriously upset ur stomach like ayahuasca and this movie.

Our body creates all the drugs it needs, and it has perfect distribution systems.
You will not overdose on endorphins, adrenalin etc, but an ayahuasca trip can go horribly wrong.

@tzeH2O you need to have a small chemistry set. with the ayahuasca you should freeze it, then grind it in a blender at least 4 times to get a good mix. then you need to change the ph levels. if you didn't pay attention chemistry class or never used chemicals, then this could be really hard to do for. if you do dmt, have a recorder on stand and talk about what you experienced to the best of your ability as the memory will leave you. an ego death is most intense.

I think that this brew was made out of cacti. It's not Ayahuasca. Ayahuasca is native to South America and wasn't available for the Native Northern Americans. Besides the cacti are shown many many times in this movie.

while Ayahuasca has DMT in it, its the presence of the plant spirits, the icaros, and the shaman that make the experience. I would not recommend taking Ayahuasca otherwise, its not a drug, or a trip, its a medicine. You leave your self behind, and tap right into creation - purging a lot of baggage on the journey to divinity. You're taken to a different world, and the entities/spirits that exist there, will talk to you, operate on you, and show you things you couldn't imagine. There is a reason local drug dealers don't sell Ayahuasca! The shaman's job is to protect you from the dark spirits in the space, and the ones coming out of you when you purge. You may 'trip' on chemical DMT, but Aya mixed with multiple trees and a shaman is different.

it is a completely personal and subjective experience. but that doesn't take away from it's validity. it's an amazing teacher. gets inside you and knows everything there is to know. mostly things you don't know yet. that's the disorienting part. finding the unknown and learning it is you.

Actually acid is a synthetic compound from the plant ergot. And I can tell you from personal experience that it can be a very educational experience. In fact the most enlightening experience I've ever had was on Acid. And what I learned in that 4 hours was no different then anything I've learned from intensive meditation and spiritual study since. DMT just makes you see shit too. Its up to YOU to use the experience in an educational manner, not the chemical catalyst.

I totally know what you mean, as I've done similar stuff (obviously not as hard-core) by means of hyperventilating. If you're one for experimentation, oh boy you gotta try it. you just take 10 deep breaths, preferably while lying down, then hold your breath and push down on it and stand up. sure you can just take 10 deep breaths for your first time but after you get used to it you invent new "techniques" (like lying down to breathe and standing up exactly 2 seconds after you hold your breath)

Was up to 10 at one time and realized what kind of physical dammage I was doing to my body. But when you are paying less than 1 dollar for a trip its easy to get caught up. School work suffered and had a few encounters with the cops in the end.

Furthermore, just because something isn't physically addictive, it does not mean that one can not become addicted to it. Mental addictions are not restricted, and in most cases are much more dangerous.

Ayahuasca works different for everubody, I had Ayc, and my experience ( and my wife´s experience) was not at all alucinogenic, I never had visions or an LSD kind of trip. in my case was a deep sence of connection with myself, I made myself questions and i givemyself the answers. Nobody ever talks about Ayc, as a cleansing process, phycical and spiritual. Vomiting and cheat...g certainly cleanse your body.
Ayc is much more than a phsycodelic drink is a full cleansing of mind body ans spirit

peyote and mesc (the stuf in peyote) is hardly this powerful. You would need a good dose of DMT for this kind of experience. Mesc is hardly comparable to the power of DMT.

It is peyote in the movie. But the "director" of this movie, is expressing his personal experience with "ayahuasca".

i dont think it is peyote in the movie notice the dark color of t he mixture and the twisted roots that were behind the cup that was grabbed in the grow room was twisted and looked very much like the caapi root used to make ayahuasca. there was peyote buttons in the room as well but the cup was near the roots, and peyote once made into a drink is greenish in color nor does the peyote drink notoriously upset ur stomach like ayahuasca and this movie.
