I bought her album after hearing "Video Games" and "Blue Jeans." I'm really glad that I did because I love it. I really don't understand why people hate her. They say that she can't sing - but she can. She has a unique voice. This was a bad performance by a young singer who was obviously nervous as hell. They say she's "fake" - her lips, her name, her image, etc. So...does Katy Perry have naturally neon colored hair? Is "Lady Gaga" written on Gaga's birth certificate?

How is this being called 'the worst performance on SNL ever'? Her vocal technique is different, yes. She has to position the microphone differently during the song to help with her vocal effects. I like her but like that one guy said it really does sound like some an old Italian man is singing sometimes. She is probably terribly nervous due to all the attention and anticipation surrounding her album and her mainstream live performances.

What I meant is that everyone can sing but not everyone is supposed to. According to the lyrics, you could put any crap to this "emotional" multiviolin tune and the audience would love it anyway cause the melody is the thing that seduces the people. How is this being called 'the worst performance on SNL ever'? Her vocal technique is different, yes. She has to position the microphone differently during the song to help with her vocal effects. I'm sick of seeing her being drilled by the public and media, regardless of her family's wealth, she's damn talented and those who have bashed her music really have no knowledge of music and technique.
