How many miles does your 06 Ninja have now, Last video you had 40K+ on it. Did you happen to sit on the new bike, Just wondering how the 2 would compair, In forward leaning angle. Thank's, yl
@AtlasRider Thank you for the info. Have you had any more problems with the 06 bike, Other then what you talked about. On the new Ninja, Did the seat feel better then the older one. Never been on a Ninja 650r, That why I ask , Only a Versys. Have you ever considered the Versys, Or just the KLR for your needs better for long trips. The Versys specs, Should make for a better tuning suspension, Over the Ninja's for the street, But lower power. Thank's again, yl
Thanks for the walk around. Great bike perfect for a beginner. I own a 2009 in NE Ga.I agree about the seat. It's kinda rough on the butt after about 45 minutes. Vibration affects the mirrors at highway speeds. I love it though. Fun in the twisties or open road.
Not sure if i care for all the changes. I have been looking at earlier models to pick up as a second bike. I used to have a 500r and the 650 is the model that ended up replacing it. Cool video! I hope to take a test ride on one when they do a Bike week here in AZ
Nice comparative review...I think they should have kept the black w/ red frame (like yours??), that made it look more stylish to me...instead of all black...if I was to get the Kawi, I'd probably go for the green...buddy of mine just bought an orange one...sharp bike...
Last major update was in 2007/8 when they 'fixed' the vibrations and changed the dash to an all digital dash and of course the stylying changed a bit from less rounded to more aggressive. The 2012 version has the dash digital and dial, bigger tank (hence the top heavy feel to it) same engine but retuned to make it more economical (apparently less power/speed but only slightly) and small mods like the style and exhaust again. Still lame brakes ;)
I had a 2009 650 for a few years. The 2012 is a new version with some significant changes. There have only been minor changes to the engine from your version, the most notable of which is rubber mounting points for the engine to reduce vibes. My only complaints about the 2009 were the seat, the lack of suspension adjust-ability, and the fact that the engine was just a teeny bit on the weak side for sustained interstate speeds with me + luggage.
I loved my 08' 650 all the way up to the point when a lady backed out of her drive way and into my lane witch totaled my beautiful baby.............on Christmas Eve. :( and you know what my father bought me for Christmas? A freaking gremlin bell! Oh well all in all they are great bikes.

reminds me so much of the Fazer's, especially the dash.

it's a damn sexy bike

You know whats a sexy bike is any buell model besides the blast.
wish they still made them. they have atleast 983cc.
light weight, shorter legnth of the bike compared to the japanese and european bikes. The Buell is a better bike.
More fun to ride, corners.
Sex just screams out the exhaust.
A man sounding bike.@lwkleijn

@Kodiak31415 The vibrations have been a big sore spot with the 650r comunity. Glad they addressed that. Thanks for sharing.

JuggusNawt 1 month ago
@JuggusNawt Your size shouldn't be an issue. I'm 4 inches taller than you and about 30 LBS heavier. I fit on a 2009 just fine.
