  • Aaron is my modern day idol. Majority of society these days are fabricated into something they really aren't in order to impress others which makes me sick. Aaron Lewis is one of the realest motherfuckers I know. He speaks his mind regardless if it's going to piss people off or not, and that's how everyone should be. I feel like I know this guy, hopefully one day I will. I've been told to go on meds for anxiety and depression and I said no thanks I already have my medication, Staind.

  • 2:55 heavy riff, pounding drums, great vox

  • 2:55 is my favorite part of any music video ever. :)

  • @XmXFLUXmX2 , and you are a fan of Staind? Aaron and the guys would be ashamed to have a fan like you.

  • Great album

  • To anyone who has experienced loss...This song has single handedly got me through the loss of my father, my ex girlfriend, feeling lost in life, any regrets, and has always brought me hope. This should have 100 million views. Thank you Staind.

  • Jon was awesome. Sucks he's gone. Still one of my favorite Staind vids

  • @F50Italia hey he is in a new band called Soil they are pretty hardcore.

  • Arguing on the internet about off-topic pussy shit is so pathetic. Shut the fuck up and listen.

  • @ntaj15 here's a good quote to use:

Arguing on the internet is like competing in the Special Olympics, even is you win you're still retarded :D.

  • This song just really reminds me of how odd i am really. I need to settle down one of these days. I'm only 22 and i've been every where in canada almost people seem to be suprised when i tell them how many time's i've moved and i always know i'm going to move again so i push people away but feel so lonely at the same time...it's odd.

  • 11 people have their heads up their asses; I dislike you too.

  • My god, I had this album and it's still relavant today, wow. I really feel this song as I felt it when I first herd it, I'm a emotional person and I can relate to alot. Man sometimes you just need to let go and believe and just listen......

  • THIS is real shit.......... stop listenin to drake kids. Listen to Aaron Lewis.

  • hmm.... everytime i hear this,it reminds me of the past..... (sigh) looking back really hurts sometimes

  • I agree Smokestorm....it's how you interpret the song....that's the beauty of Staind. You know Aaron has felt pain, he gets lost in the songs. I could sit and listen all night to their stuff. Can so relate...

  • Got me through prison. freedom

  • At one point I thought this song was about a relationship with a woman, then I read it was about child abuse. Does anyone know the meaning of this song?

  • @BigRoadJunkie4Life music art, and art is a thing that was made to be interpretted, you get from it what you see in it

  • XmXFLUXmX2 you are a worthless human being, go do something with your life bitch ass.

  • @peanutbuttercrunc100 You're 29 years old, still living with your parents, yet you're telling me to get a life?Well, I would usually say something witty, but your failure as a human being as well as a man while doling out life advice speaks for itself.

  • 11 people listen to justin beiber

  • I'm actually sympathetic to the gay movement... my brother is gay, whatever... great song... period.

  • @liltiml Faggot.

  • @XmXFLUXmX2 What are u 12? Grow up dude

  • @F50Italia Great, another fag lover. Where do all of you cowardly weasels come from? How are you made?

  • this is what we call music, not that shit that plays on the radio over and over...

  • Such a great song. Powerful meaning. Whatever happened to good song writing?

  • 11 people don't have a home

  • 666 like fuck yeaa

  • @Ruddteen Late 90's first album came out, but from Dsyfunction on is 2000's so 2000's bro!

  • are they 90s band or 2000's or both im making a list of top 90s 1st the 2000's but i cant tell with them?

  • @Ruddteen they started in 95

  • hahahahha my band was never on a major label and had over 4Xs the views

  • @MrDterry69 nobody gives a shit u bitch ass fag

  • Fav

  • Was that Fred Durst in the beginning?

  • @hasp880912 yep

  • R.I.P. Jason Douglas Orrin Blois 1983-2005

  • R.I.P. Jason Douglas Orrin Blois....

  • GREAT SONG

  • I am all that is man...and I just teared up toward the end of this vid. Deep song.

  • staind is the shit! they rock i got all their cds, even tormented, the dvds, etc. and a whole bunch of staind merch and autographs i even had aaron lewis become my godfather.

  • @sarahlovecraft415 your dedication as a fan doesnt consist of what you have or who you know. Does that mean that a poor kid from new york who can't afford those things is less of a fan than you are? Because instead of cds, he recorded tapes, rather than autographs he ripped pictures from magazines and taped them to his wall, drowining out life with the same 4 songs on repeat, that means he is less dedicated? Staind hasn't taught you a damn thing if thats the case, and I used to be that kid.

  • @Chapter1Tormented :D Great point

  • @Chapter1Tormented Well said! Right on!

  • seems like staind sings to me

  • good ole jamz

  • Comment removed

  • favorite staind song

  • Aaron and the guys are the best ever. Whenever im havin a bad day i just turn these guys on. ive always been a hardcore staind fan and always will be. nothing can change that.

  • Im a Marine and this song really hit close to me

  • the frist time i heard this song i was huffing 123456 1 2 3 4 5 6 a b c e d f g

  • This was filmed in my hometown Pacoima California. i saw the whole production and met the band. A day i will never forget.

  • What an amazing song. It's like a life story. Starts out with pain and struggle, then the shit hits the fan during the bridge, and at the end, resolve. Amazing. :)

  • Check out Hateface-Vlad

  • This is THE song that got me into Staind!!

  • Great song. The pain in his voice is palpable.

  • great, great song....

  • the day i hear this song lol but realy the night was alone there was a lot of infulinsincins in mind the word my fov song were hear followed by the best thing ever. MY life.

  • what a pretty song!

we don't forget 90's music scene!

  • Staind is supposed to release an album next year. I really hope they go back to there old school music. I did not care for "The illusion of Progress". We need to bring Nu Metal back again. I wonder what the new Limp Bizkit cd sounds like. I'm gonna go take a listen and see if I like it.

  • "I live through this...I can't see through this...I can't do this anymore!!"

Hearing those lyrics jus gives me chills

  • I really like this song and Mudshovel...but then after that the music kinda went too commercial, with too much emphasis on vocals.

  • This song brings me chills down my spine and up my arms! Especially towards the end of the video. Old School Staind will stay forever in my influencial choice of music.

  • Dysfuntion= Greatness. I've been listening to Dysfunction since it came out when i was i was in 6th grade and it never gets old.

  • @imfreakintired27 im bringing skeksi back!

  • LOL!! the place i got this song from called this "Afraid to be Alone" LOL!! I Was like "this song sounds good, but i wanna hear other songs from them, so i jump on Youtube, click on Staind - Home, and find out i've been lied to! lol!

  • Im afraid to be alone

Afraid youll leave me when Im gone Im afraid to come back home..........home

  • I wish every moment of everyday that you would ask me to come back home, so we could be a family agian. Daddy, mommy, and baby. One day you will see that I am better than her and you will say you are sorry for kicking us out. : (

  • my cousin caught me listening to this, and he called me a "lame". and i told him, "if im a lame for actually wanting meaning in a song, then im the lamest peron in the world"

  • @ven1997 Tell your cousin to get lost. You are on the right track. Emotions mean a lot. The problem with music today is that it has been taken over by hip hop. Emotions don't mean anything. Just being tough and having fun.

  • @ven1997 Your cousin's obviously a fucking retard.

  • @Playmold2 you don't know what you are talking about if you don't like the music don't listen to it but don't put it down Aaron is and the guys are still great to this day

  • man i love staind, when im feelin down or depressed i just listen to them and it gives me a feelin like everythings guna be fine and that pain doesnt last forever

  • That's EXACTLY it. High School. Beyond being 17 or 18 this music/band is totally terrible and pathetic.

  • @Playmold2

agreed. after i went to college they really went down hill. dysfunction was great, break the cycle was good, everything after that is shit

  • After reading all these comments I get what the song is about. I thought it was a bunch of sissy lyrics about a girl who he fears will leave him. I guess it's about being abused as a child. No disrespect; I have been a Staind fan for ten years and they are one of my favorite bands.

  • This is my favorite song from this band. Staind Rules!!!!!

  • Fred Durst?! At the Beginning of the vid.

Good song. Helps to listen to when depressed

  • @slowblood99 ya Fred directed it.

  • if i could id marry him making him happy for the rest of his life...he looks so sensitive fragile deppressed it mustve been that harsh........i love you aaron i love you .....!!!!!!!!

  • My favorite song from Staind of all time. Though it is hard to pick a favorite with so many good ones. Aaron and the guys really helped me through high school and troublesome times afterward. I guess I'm a little nostalgic, but I have stuck with my numetal nature and I believe it will make a comeback soon enough. Everything goes full circle. Or maybe I'm afraid of getting older?

  • @ExCessBaGGage99 lol ya me too...love every song from Staind, they can do no wrong haha. Same here, yet they still help me day to day just as they did back in school. What???we'll never get old...not us...nope huh-uh ..never =D

  • @ExCessBaGGage99 Man I know exactly how you feel, I've been listening to nu metal for 10 years, never letting go. And it should be coming back this year

  • @ExCessBaGGage99 we all get older. it part of life.

  • @ExCessBaGGage99 i feel the same way...as the years pass by i hear more and more my nu-metal roots, and i really feel old when i hear all this new bands that i dont know who the hell are

  • @ExCessBaGGage99 same with me. Aarons my idol

  • @ExCessBaGGage99 i hate to break it to you but aaron is doing his own shit that sucks i too like the old stuff from them

  • @ExCessBaGGage99 Over-analyze much? I do the same thing =p shit isn't as complex as we think it is.

  • @ExCessBaGGage99 I agree ! my favorite part is when he sings GOOONNEEE its amazing hes a great artist !

  • this is by far stainds best album. its a shame that they went all "mainstream rock" just to sell a few more albums. but, i digress... this is a kickass album.

  • wtf an outlet but it makes it worse? your fuckin dumb and jus like feelin sorry for yourself go commit suicide dip shit it'll solve it all i promise did it once

  • I can tell by this video he has been very close to suicide seriously the cliff, the train tracks the side of the road he has been so fragile someone pull him out see end of video*

  • 2:13 shows tits

  • lol?

  • I deeply believe that Aaron Lewis was abused as a child

sexual or beaten. because he sings about he pain in the songs like

    Fade

    Home

    For You

    Epiphany

Maybe it was Father or Mother or both?

  • that is too much conclusion

  • myabe you were beaten

  • dude....killjesus?? seriously? come on, could u be a little more disrespectful?

  • i can....

  • when you say praise jesus you are disrespecting every other religion so try not to be so sensitive. besides he's already dead

  • I saw Staind in Ft. Myers, FL in 2005 and they played all of their hits EXCEPT THIS ONE! Bastards!

  • Ive been a Staind Fan ever since this album came out and I just started listening to this song again its been a long time since I have but ive been depressed lately and this song is perfect for my situation... Even though it makes me more depressed its an outlet for my depression to go through

  • That was the dumbest thing you can say noheroX you are a fucking retard

  • LOL

  • 1:28 that was me driving by. haha

  • they actually have an album befor this i forget what its called but it had the original mudshuvel that album and this 1 r true staind

  • It's called "Tormented", released in '96

  • Its good to hear how good they used to be, they really need to go back to this style music.

  • To answer all of your questions, yes that is Fred Durst (Lead Vocalist for Limp Bizkit) He was actually the Person who found Aaron Lewis, and since then they have been friends.

  • I no outside was made without the band just aaron lewis and fred.

  • Awesome song, one of my favs...

I just hate the fact that everyone thinks it's called "I'm afraid to be alone" and bitch about the fact that they can't find it on any CDs

  • This is the real staind. Dysfunction.

  • this song is really good in my top 5

  • lol this one hell of a good song.

    staind is meh favorite ^_^

  • This is by far my favorite song by them!!!

  • DAMN Aaron Lewis is just crazy sexy in this video. One of there best songs.

  • Is that Fred Durst walking toward the screen at 0:12 ??

  • unfortunately yes

  • Fred who? lol

  • lol Limpbizkit singer. Where the hell did he go, right?

  • that was awesome when he jumps haha ive never seen any of there vids till today. Love the band and the videos are ba too

  • i dont think it sounds like fade either..but i do like both of em..stainds the shit..nuff said

  • @d3term1ned If anything, Fade would sound like this, since this was first, but i don't think they sound alike.

  • @d3term1ned Ya. Tormented and Dysfunction sounds nothing like any of the other albums. They are both VERY heavy. Break the Cycle was heavy, But not as heavy as them. I do hope their new album goes back to Dysfunction's heavyness though

  • @ComfortablyNumbAgain dysfuction what what made me a fan but all the music after i mean i like but i just don't care to hear mainstream ruined these guys lewis is amazing put its all so worn out now dysfunction u bring that up and people are like what they have no clue just go and mudshovel were so heavy and just grabbed me when i heard bouth of them!

  • @jbeal831 Personaly. I love their songs that aren't singles. Aflat,Spleen, and Crawl are my favorites off Dysfunction. When people think or hear of Staind they think of Outside or IBAW. Yes, both good songs. But when I think of Staind its Yesterday,Change,Take It,Take This etc. I love their non-single songs more than their singles.

  • @ComfortablyNumbAgain YA THEY DO GREAT ALBUMS NOT JUST GREAT SINGLES LIKE MOST BANDS

  • @jbeal831 Punctuation is your friend.

  • @penguindredg apparently not ;)

  • Sorry to say, this song does not sound like fade

  • lol snoopdog is only saying that because he wants people to see his page

  • the opening to this song sounds like Fade

  • or Fade sounds like the opening to this song, since Home came out first.

Saw these guys last night, they were awesome!

  • wtf am i supposed to say like who reall says that shit and mean it on like world internet? that stupid...i may sound ignorant but i mean really.

  • suicide is our way of saying to God...hey you cant fire me i quit, not to mention it is proven that people who do try to commit suicide NEVER mention it in public unless in a joking manner so stop being gay and find something other than this to do..the only reason i get on her is the musical aspect not to deal with crazy retards like you.

  • And I'm afraid to be alone..afraid you'd leave me when I'm gone..I'm afraid to come back home.

  • You're pathetic.

  • hey you're not serious about that threat? You don't know me so whatever I say by definition will sound trite and cliche, but if you were serious about that or might even be having any growing thoughts about suicide, push them out of your head. If loneliness is the problem, then sudden death doesn't solve that at all. What is a hopeless death but submission to the transient feeling of loneliness?

  • Trite and Cliche

  • Despair always passes, (though it seems endless and hurts like hell to go through it). So please take it to heart that you'll get out of this trench. There's probably no immediate solution but suicide isn't going to end it. I I know that first hand.

And if you were being sarcastic with that remark, then ignore what I've written. I'm far too naive to detect spoken sarcasm, and so most likely can't see it when it's written.

  • haha that was funny

  • I'm afraid to be alone..afraid you'd leave me when I'm gone...I'm afraid to come back home.

  • suicide is painless

  • This is definitaley my favorite Staind song. I really like Aaron's vocals in this song.

  • I love this one, STAIND RULES! :D

  • i love this song i havent heard it in for ever and ya it reminds me of when i left home to go live with my mom

  • good song

  • no great song

  • dam..watched this over 20 times since the 1st comment i left..n shit that part still gets me..

  • great video love the song..the best part is when he jumps off the cliff n turns into crows i dont know y but i like it

  • i think this is stainds best song. but staind has alot of good songs. their awsome

  • Staind is the best band i've ever heard

  • AMEN

    to that dude

holy crap someones reading my mind, lol

But that is true my friend

    :D <3333

  • Lol I Like staind their music relates to how i feel sometimes

  • Yeah,

    Dude thats pretty much the

    only reason I listen

    to staind because I can

    Understand and relate to

    what Aaron's singing about.

  • He manages to express in this video what words cannot.

  • The first time i heard this, my son sent it to me. He was in Michigan, 16 yrs. old workin' on a cable job. First time he'd ever been away from home. I thought it was about me and i cried so hard. Come to find out it was about a girl he knew, and he just wanted to share it with me. Wheeeew! I Love You Christopher! Much Success with your band baby! You will go far! I BELIEVE! 2ND ALBUMS GONNA KILL! Momma

  • aarons body shape is so awesome not 2 skinny not 2 chunky

    ITS JUST HOTT

    ILY aaron

  • i love this song and aaron

but can i say he looks incredible sexxi when hes hugging himself :)

  • No one is alone. You have yourself.

Thats why Aaron is huging himself.

    Aaron is manificent.

  • This song expresses the EXACT way I feel right now. Isolated. All alone. Betrayed.

  • aww dont feel that way. be strong. =)

  • LOL! Glad you got my back there Dr. Phil. Just don't send me a bill for your "services." Got enough of those already.

  • Hey magicman, that makes two of us. Except I kind of apathetic to everything as well.

  • They really manage to make us all FEEL what it's like to be isolated in this song. Very expressively disseminated.

  • what is the style of guitar & bass playing called when you sloop real low called? it seems like every band that fred durst is associated with (staind, korn, cold, sevendust) does it.

can someone please help me? Thanks!
