Best of luck to the guy, 4.3's blazing speed - not going to guess as to the accuracy of that but if he's running that, damn. Not sure how he'll fare though, looks pretty small. Athletes like this are so dominant in high school but the size might be an issue if he keeps advancing. Speed alone can't really carry him. It'd be really unfortunate for him to take some hits from bigger guys and get put out.
Some of this video is against the 3 time defending state Champion..... Daingerfield TX. Last year they produced 7-8, D-1 players (Steve Edmond, Keyarris Garrett, Tyler Boyd, etc) . So that's pretty good competition. Texas football, in the playoffs, is always good competition.
@schapadap Oh haha Well then let me rephrase that then lol
I wonder how well he would be against some good Texas teams. For example, Trinity, Colleyville Heritage, Southlake, or Allen. The teams he played against in the highlights just looked sorry and terrible.
He signed with Trinity Valley Community College in Athens TX. He had offers from some D1's but he wanted to try this route instead. TVCC had the most D1 signees than any other JC in the country this year.
wow, seeing the other video where it shows all the hard work, it makes you appreciate this vid even more, this kid is a winner and i wish that he truly makes it into whatever college team he wants to and if he wants to be in the NFL i wish he makes it there too!
he is clowning on these kids on boston hahah kids gonna go places. I had scholarships then i tore my ACL and some othe ligament in my right knee couldn't play the rest of my final season and scholarships... Gone just like that. had D1 and D2 teams looking at me. shit happens though
No kidding, he is lightning fast and all and finds the holes well, but half the time hasn't been touched until he is into the secondary. He has some great blockers on his team.
i hope he reads the comments when he has days he doesn't feel as motivated. i don't know the kid but his talent and determination are going to take him far.
What senior class is he in? And its strange with stats that he had his previous years he's not on rivals. And can someone tell me the exact name of this instrumental cause that other channel has to many videos to search.
No offense but this video doesn't really show the guys talent, majority of his highlights are downhill running with gigantic holes created by the offensive line and wide outs. Recruiters need to see more than just speed. I happen to watch the offensive line more than I did the runner.
this guy is extremely good, im a offensive lineman so sometimes i just find myself watchin the o line do work, look at the block at like 1:39...O-LINE!!
outstanding player and video. mad props to this cat. whats the song in the background? im trying to put it on our football teams playlist for when we workout. btw i also showed these videos to my team. inspirational stuff man. best of luck. "Never Give Up, Never Quit!"- Coach Sampogna Hen Hud Football.
.......cont.......as recruiters, we could care less of who makes 1st team state or whatever. Out of the potential 25 athletes we sign each year, we're lucky to get 1 to 2 all state guys, we focus less on what you did in high school. We evaluate based on what we think your potential would be at the next level. That's how come we give out college rankings while youre still in high school. Most kids make 1st team LONG after we've made our offers so we can't focus on that. Best of luck to the kid!
......cont......and from what I've seen, he already has a decent muscle mass which means his frame cant hold a lot more w/o him becoming too big. He realistically can only potentially be recruited as an inside receiver. He's too small for running back, he can possible be a cornerback as well. If anything for any D1, he'll be red shirted and see what becomes if him in the weight room, but from his size and w/ no tagged D1 offers, D2 is looking likely.....continued.....
@schroedboss, I never mentioned what school he'll go to. I asked were his offers D2. I asked bcuz I am a college recruiter and he is not listed in the NCAA database w/ any D1 offers. Not that this next statement means th most but he doesn't even have any recruiting profiles on scout, rivals, or espn, he's only listed on 247, but also doesn't have any offers there. Although we have weight programs for athletes, if he were 5'6 160, that'd be one thing. but he's 5'11 and 160.....continued......
LaMichael James enters the NFL, stage right. Shakeem Jefferson enters stage left, the next big name to surprise everyone. Hope he'll be an Oregon Duck. Coach Campbell is the best RB coach in the nation, just ask any player the had the privilege of having him as a coach.
He looks like a good talent & from his work ethic, I'd love to see the kid succeed.....yet I see you stated he's being recruited, but I don't see him in the database w/ any offers......he's not even listed on recruiting websites other than 247, and he doesnt have any offers listed there either. Are his mentioned offers all D2?
@ssdauto I seriously doubt anyone that is first team all state in Texas is going D2 no matter what their size. College teams specialize in forming players to the physical mass that will make them the best player possible, regardless of high school size. We'll see this man for years to come.
But hey he is very fast and quick thinker and light on his feet. has that one cut ability and if he puts on weight and can keep his speed, expect some calls with real interest. Just know that at the D-1 level alot of the missed tackles and arm tackles can/will turn into loses. As far as the Safety position goes I cant really judge him on that because the position needs more of a sample size from snap till whistle blown. Good luck kid!
One problem I see right off the bat is his size. He is small and while other small backs have succeeded they are the exception, not the rule. Plenty of small backs get lit up once they go D-1. Another problem is that he plays 2A/3A ball just judging on the talent and you have to be extremely successful there to be recognized. Scouts will probably recruit him to be a slot receiver if he can catch out of the backfield. He wont survive as an in between the tackles back.
you know how when you play NCAA football 09 or 10 (i dont have 11 yet) and you play in highschool and you just dominate on campus legend.... thts what it kind of reminds me of.. what a boss
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog. Im 5'6, junior in high school. Going after my dream. Showing people that size doesn't matter. Sending my support from Southern California.
