Hi! Would you be so kind and send me the GP tabs and/or PDF. Love the composition, although I plan on playing it on my Les Paul ;). Your help will be much appreciated.
Now this is very nice - a great way of exploiting the features and approach to this type of instrument I think - rather than approaching it as a true guitar. Piano stylings with guitar voicings and fingerstyle. Now this is tempting for composition. Beautiful song...
Unbelievable he's gone. Has anyone here got the Tabs of "An Idea"? I'd like to learn and play it in memory of a full heart musician who could have taught us so much more if he only had more time.
I just want to clear, could I use this to control VST instruments on my in my computer? I want to be able to control orchestral and choral sounds. Can i do that or am i restrcited to the sounds on the the actually guitar?
Hey I just recently purchased one of these babies. I plan on using it for triggering samples and looking pretty cool while doing it but now that I hear this, I think I'm going to incorporate it into my composition. How is the finger picking "feel" on this? Does it feel like a guitar? Harder or easier?
The strings are looser than a normal guitar so fingerpicking is easier and it is also touch sensitive. You just have to be careful to not to hit any strings you don't want to trigger. Hope it goes OK. Cheers
Hey, thats very cool, give us more ideas! I would suggest adding drums and some groovy riff to your playing. What chords are you playing? Can't recognize the two chords I know - Am and C
Awesome man! im considering buying one. Tell me, if i buy the guitar and plugs it into the computer, will i be able to record imediatly? i use Ableton Live 7.0
Thanks for the comments.. Not sure how you'd configure Ableton but you'll need a midi-usb cable from the EZAG to the PC to capture the midi notes from the midi OUT on the EZAG, then have Ableton send that midi data to a soft synth. Ableton might have some soft synths you can play around with. Good luck
The 10 frets aren't such a big deal. Remember, this is a midi controller, so you have octave select. You can play this instrument higher than a real guitar, or lower than a bass.
Yamaha undermarketed the eg series. All of those kids playing guitar hero could be playing eg guitars and actually learning something.
great video man. 5 out of 5 for sure. Can i ask what software and synth emulation sound are you using. I know nothing about midi controlers and am hopin to buy one soon. Thanks man
Thanks. Software is Cakewalk sonar and using hyperion soft synth. There are some bits and pieces of info in the comments for some of my other EZAG vids, probably plenty on the web also but Prosvetlenie has just bought an EZAG and been doing quite a bit of research/experimenting and he may be able to help you further. All the best
Thanks for the comments Paindeer. It's definitely the ability to have this thing control a soft synth and get some nice sounds that makes it so enjoyable.
This is just excellent. I've been looking for something like this, I found one on E-bay and purchased it today. I'll use the sounds on my Korg Triton, if I get half the results you do I'll be thrilled. Great playing, nice sounds, wonderful demo, thank you.
I know.. (only 70 quid on e-bay tho). I'd love to get hold of of a starrlabs midi guitar but the cheapest would cost me 2 grand and I don't think there's anything decent in between that uses buttons on the fretboard.
Hi Sidney. It's a Yamaha EZAG training guitar. Very cheap and nasty but has midi in/out so you can plug it into synths and use their sounds which is what I did here.
Hey, thats not nasty, I read about playing 700 USD MIDI rigs with real guitars - that's nasty due to tracking errors. I love the buttons instead of strings after 2 days gets comfortable, the flimsy plastic body is the crap though. I am going to put all brains inside wooden body thus realizing my old dream to build a guitar. And it will be half the size of original
its a beautiful melody
could you send me the tabs ! thx !

Beautiful job, Sir !
So that 'guitar' can work as a midi instrument, choosing any (midi) sound/tone with it ?
As I saw you played the bass sounds, too, in one time, but it sounds different than the tone you played the melody with. How did u do thaaaaat ?
Thanx

Is the paino sound coming from the EZ-AG itself? or it's come from your Keyborad or computer through MiDi output/input?

Hmm, I was just trying to find the price of one of these and found one.. eventually. "£999999".. hmm, I'm assuming that's wrong..
