@FiringOnAllEight That's got to be Ray Cooper. It sure looks like him. Ray IS a well respected AND enthusiastic percussionist who has been around for many decades. I remember him because he was in Elton Johns band in the '70s and is on most of Elton Johns biggest albums from that time period.
50 ncb, sourcing this amazing performance all to Roy Buchanan's influence is simpliistic and not accurate,.
Jeff has also been heavily influenced by the 50's rockabilly players (Scotty Moore, etc..,) Les Paul, Hendrix, John McLaughlin , Jan Hammer.and yet he has managed to piece it all togetheras his style, definitely NOT a copycat.
@lovelandre not saying jeff's a copycat. in fact jeff's by fav guitar player period. if there's a top 10 list of guitar players the top 5 would be jeff beck x5. but the volume swells definitely come from roy buchanan. jeff added whammy to the swells to push it even further. :)
Singin' guitar. I wish I could do the half of it!

@500ncb A lot of Roy Buchanan.. "Cause We've Ended as Lovers" was dedicated to him.
