Religious institutions don't have to accept gays, but there should be recognitions and equal rights for those that do. Someone should not be fired JUST BECAUSE they are gay, and someone should not be beaten JUST BECAUSE they are gay. Gays are fighting to be treated in a civil and similar manner and that's okay.

As far as being fired, if they are not doing their job anyone can be fired but if a gay person does not do their job and they get fired they can say they were ired because they were gay. Religious institutions are being pressured to allow gays into their congregations and ministries, legally pressured as well. those are good chances, sure, but a bit of a gamble i'd say. you have a 10% chance of raising a child who turns up totally ashamed of his sexuality to the point where his emotions are so distant from his parents, and so distraught and conflicted it will potentially lead to alot of depression.
