If only they taught in Driving School how to drive in snow....how much better life would be..keeping the pedal floored with the wheels spinning at 80kph in a straight line while the car isn't moving wont get you anywhere..nor will locking your wheels by braking and hoping by some miracle you will break the laws of physics and actually manage to turn to avoid hitting someone....

TCS (traction control system) is suppose to help by controling the spin in each tire and apply braking in needed to make sure all tires spin at the same rate i got a honda odyssey and in North carolina last year we got a huge snow storm and i was still able to control my car even more with TCS

They don't make 4x4 cars so my only option without diminishing fuel economy for an SUV is an AWD car. I live in North Idaho, I'm only 60 miles from Canada, I think I know what is is like to drive in the winter so don't asume anything. You are a dumbass.

My mom has a MB E320 4MATIC, and that is all she needs on our dirt road, because she knows how to drive! The same goes for my dad and his 4MOTION VW Passat.

AWD is just an added extra for cars and it is very handy! I'm glad they are putting it in more cars now. Subaru's dominate the area where I live. Plows don't work through the night anymore too so in the morning it sucks sometimes (just like the week before winter break). I find that my only limitation is ground clearance.

Honda Accord didn't do that bad actually. Maxima did horrible in the beginning but carried through. Nissan Quest did horrible. I thought the driver was going forward, reverse, forward, revese. Haha, it was funny when the snow plow came back around and it went back onto your driveway.

Don't they use wintertires? In Germany we have to change. Last January we had very high snow too. Because of wintertires I never had any problems with my cars, even by towig trailers. I have a Mazda 626 2.0 from 1998 with TCS-system and my wife had a Mazda Familia Astina from 1990 what we have sold now. With our brandnew Mazda 5 2.0 with DSC I have no winter experience, because the snow melted when we bought it. All cars have manual gearbox.
