How many years of testing? Shame the USA hasn't adopted the 'Bushmaster'. I really don't know what chance Thales Australia has at getting the contract but I think it would be optimal if the Australian Government kept our ADF MRAP program local. I also think our allies should take a serious look at what we have to offer our friends. The Bushmaster has proven itself in both theatres and we had the first MRAP out there...
It's a neat platform but there's far too many niggling fuckups for the yanks to bother with it. The much lauded water storage system can't be cleaned and the powerplant is no longer being made. With as much money as the yanks have, they can just chuck a fortune at a specialised bit of kit and have it built exactly to the specs they want it.
No civilian model makes me sad :(

it is nice, the angle body work will help protect agaisnt small arms but
ninatoms is right, a v-shaped hull helps preotect from mines and IED's going off underneath the vehicle.
thezeppo929 2 years ago
it dose have a v shape hull but they put body work around it for more protection and storage like they do on the bushmaster

no v shaped hull useless with the current threat!
ninatoms 2 years ago
It does have a vee shaped hull. I built it on the model. Not telling what the spec is.

@ninatoms
Im pretty sure they would have factored that into the design...
TheSixxes 2 years ago
@ninatoms i dunno why v-shaped hull were not standard before. Its not like mines and IED weren't used before by other enemies e.g during the Viet war
