Losing on penalties against a League One team in an unfamiliar Griffin Park isn't nearly as bad as losing at home against a League Two side from a town where football isn't even the number one sport of choice. Everton tend to take a while to get going at the commencement of a season-that's a given. However as they proved last year they are more than a match for the best on their day as results against Chelsea & Man U testified. Soon the relegation places will be but a distant memory.

On one video of the great Bob Latchford you claim that nobody outside of EFC has ever heard of him-an absolutely ridiculous statement to make as anyone who grew up in the 60s or 70s wouldn't mind verifying. And yes this Latchford you speak so highly of is an unknown beyond Woodison though at least he's one unknown you didn't feel a need to erect a statue for unlike that pre war striker who played in an era of pub standard hoofball where goalies received no protection,cricket scores reigned as did a farcical offside law & experimental rules

Not to mention amateur status,Sunday League physique,multiple jobs as brickies,chimney sweeps,binmen & plumbers,local players only,internationals unheard of,porkies scoring anywhere between 2 and 10 goals per game & laughable fitness regimes when players felt entitled to gorge & booze before and in some cases during a game.Blue Square & Scottish 3rd Division has a higher standard than this piss poor pre war era.Quite rightly it is dismissed and ignored. Post war is when credibility began.

@1878EFC2008 You do realise that scarely anyone outside of the county rd area of Liverpool has ever heard of this pre war unknown.We're talking about an era where it was permissible to bundle ball & goalkeeper into the net,over 90% of goalscoring records date from pre war era,some internationals averaged more than a goal per game (Vivian Woodward) and most games ended in cricket scores.It's the reason Jimmy Greaves,Clive Allen & Ronaldo are ALWAYS referred to as post war.When credibility began!

Liverpool are now in their rightful place, only good player is demotivated and perennially half fit.
The ten point gap is looking like a conservative estimate now. Considering Liverpool look like relegation fodder with only a lucky win against West Brom to their name, and Everton looking good for a top 4 place, then the gap could conceivably be around 30-40 points.

That's strange Jay. I don't recall you saying the same thing last year when the Sunderland goal scored at the SOL was incredibly allowed to stand.Last Saturday the free kick was taken, two LFC stalwarts reacted quicker than any of Sunderland's players,scored after a delicious one-two, the ref consulted with his linesman so as not to have been seen to have made a rash decision and correctly awarded the goal. Don't see anything wrong there.Leave aside the bitterness Jay & you may understand!

True. Losing on penalties against a League One team in an unfamiliar Griffin Park isn't nearly as bad as losing at home against a League Two side from a town where football isn't even the number one sport of choice. Everton tend to take a while to get going at the commencement of a season-that's a given. However as they proved last year they are more than a match for the best on their day as results against Chelsea & Man U testified. Soon the relegation places will be but a distant memory.

That ten point prediction is still looking good wouldn't you say? Let's just remind ourselves-this is the teaam Blackpool defeated 2-0 at St. James Park last weekend. How anyone could look a gift horse in the mouth like that is beyond me. With the upcoming fixtures it looks as if neverton may beat their own PL record by failing to win all autumn.
