  • I used to hum this in 5th grade :D

  • Why the fuck people give here Dislike? It's soundtrack video so they should know what that video is... if you don't like fucking music don't even look for it, "Dislike bitcheS"

  • I loved first simcity. Later sequels somehow escaped me... Also check out Simutrans!

  • Good God. So many memories. LOVED playing this game when I was young, even if I didn't fully understand it.

  • Aw, I miss this game. Too bad my disc broke and now it doesn't work on my new computer. I got Sim City 4, but it doesn't give me the same feeling of nostalgia.

  • Thumbs up.... If you spent over 100hours on this game... every week!

  • I remember listening to similar stuff on mpr a few years ago but have no Ideal what to look for.

  • Anyone know what type of Jazz this would count as?

  • @Heisbig

With its melody, structure and lineup (Trumpet, Saxophone, Piano, Bass, Drums) it's a classic Bop-jam.

  • @Heisbig Dont really know but it's kinda john coltrane ish.

  • Man this games music is epic I so regret giving this game away all those years ago after I got sim city 4 the music is so relaxing. off to ebay with me

  • absolutely nothing better than simcity 3000....listening to this music allll dayy and building big ass cities and i would always not enact on any of the ordinances lol

ahhh man the good old days

  • i miss the before. its so good!

  • Jazz should have been in SC4.

  • isnt sim city the reason why there are so many jazz lovers

  • my parents took this game away from me. i want 2 play it so bad

  • Better than Sid Meier's Civilization V. Being a mayor is amazing!

  • I remember a few building names. Silver tower, gold tower, kate building, arbor plaza.. What a great game

  • somehow even though failed at this game so much and sim city 4 is such a deeper and easier game, the music, the atmosphere of this game, the cartoony advisors and the memories of playing it with my dad when I was a kid just make me go back and play it over and over again

  • I think they should seriously release sim city 2000 and 3000 for free. It's not like they're flying off the shelves, right? ( I'm sure if they rebranded it and sold it again they would be)

  • @zombieheadcrab

Simcity 2000 (and classic) are abandonware, now. You can download them for free online. 3000 would be like... ten bucks on ebay or something.

I have ALL FOUR SimCity games running on my computer right now. So happy! ^_^

  • This song sent me straight to heaven! My god I miss this game.. the feel, the music, the relaxation, the challenge! Good times

  • @TheShortStory I still have it, I remember my mother brought it.

  • This was my favorite song out of the whole soundtrack of the game. They should have released this and all of the other SC3000 gems on a soundtrack CD.

  • @AFiestOfFriends EA has it on there simcity website, you can even download cd case inserts, cover art and a label for the cd itself.

  • @AFiestOfFriends Thanks!

  • Wow, I love that saxophone that just cuts in. Kick ass.

Man just listening to this makes me want to play Sim City

  • 4:12 looks like Scotland

  • I used to play the crap outta this game and probably more in SC 2000.

  • I play Sim City music when I have people over for dinner, they have no idea they're listening to a video game soundtrack.

  • This music brings back lots of great memories, I used to spend entire nights playing this game with my brother.

  • I keep mixing up SimCity 2000 with Sim City 3000. This happen to anyone elses memories, that mix the two games together?

  • i put al SC 3000 soundtrack into SC 4, i still play SC 4 some times but wouldn1 do it without SC 3000 music. and also remembers my childhood. i was addicted to sc 3000 playing it more than 6 hours per day during holidays.

  • SimCity 3000 had the most relaxing music.

  • I hop the the next true SimCity would have more a orcanic feel tords it like all the roads can go any ware and all the build do not look the same so for a more realistic city

  • This would be an interesting song to play.

Anyone with awesome ear training willing to post the notes/chords?

  • So nostalgic right now! I remember i was like 10 or 11, my uncle had this game at his house & thought i would like it, boy was he right! I would spend hours on it, even if it was just destroying the city lol. When i hear this lovely music i can still see myself having a good time with this game on a nice summer day. I miss being a kid :'(

  • @RnBeautyJazzflower that's jazz for ya

  • I have know idea what kind of music it is but who gives a crap? It's amazing!

  • I love Jazz in Maxis games (Sims 1 and Simcity 3000) ahhhh <3<3

  • how do u make bridges?..

  • @nesleonidas Just drag a road across a waterway: should do it automatically as long as you don't have buildings or pipes where the bridge's ends start.

  • Thank you Kirk Casey!

  • Same music from the Sims 1 for PC with the HotDate expansion pack I think

  • THE BEST CONSTRUCTION AND MANAGEMENT SIMULATION EVER !!!

  • Great game....great music....this song brings me right back to when I was like, 10. I had no idea how to run a city, and I was always in the red. But, I had fun!

  • This is just so awesome...

I do not need a new sim city. The fantastic community always give me something new to play with thanks to simtropolis and the LEX.

I need to find a way to import this music into Sim City 4 though, this beats even Urban Underground, and i love that song.

  • Simcity 3000 is my biggest source of childhood nostalgia.

  • what's the title of this song?????????

  • @marcogliottone HINT read title.

  • KOOOOOL!!

  • Great game, fantastic soundtrack.

You could spend ages thinking about what kind of land you wanted.. then hours on end trying your goddamn best to make a profit.

Ooof.. Such a hard game imo. :P

  • This game's soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard, in a video game. I thought I was the only one who loved the tunes from SC3K, but it's nice to know I was wrong. I liked the ambient stuff from SC4, but this was way better.

  • omg this is the first ever vid i seen with no dislikes, thank god, keep it up

  • I wish simcity 4 had a WARNING SIREN!!! you agree??

  • Badass bass grove in this song lol

  • Soooooooo Relaxing =D... I like the Sim City music ^^

  • The awsome jazz music for this game was so good, it really suited it.

  • my ultimate favorite! :DDD

  • I love it!

  • I didn't realize I had memories attached to this music until I heard it! :o)

  • ahhh this brings back memories of playing this game when I was younger.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one who knows Maxis games have brilliant soundtracks.

  • wow... this song is SO similar to blues at frog bottom

  • first one to dislike this video is gettin aids

  • @MalexThirteen Let's hope he doesn't infect others ;)

  • @edwardedema Lets hope he infects all who dislike this later!

  • @edwardedema Well, he didn't infect me :D

  • @MalexThirteen 1 person got aids XD

  • @MalexThirteen i got aids

  • Man, I'm in love with this music!

  • I'm so reinstalling this, havent played it in years, glad I didnt get rid of it :D

Best Sim City. last one before the Sims. Sims 2 was the ebst Sims. Which I still got. Maxis make great games. And Spore, got that too. But EA ruined Spore, EA need to let Maxis do what they did when Sim City 3000 was made.

  • Those were the days.... i miss this game sooo fuckin much.

  • If this is Simcity 3000, where are the other 2999?

  • @NintendoFreak29 HAHAHAHAHA Im still on Sim City 2365 Deluxe Edition.

  • Wow this takes me back! I love how this music was always the first to come on after a disaster!

  • "Please, hold while your call is connected the next available representative"

"Please stay on the line, your call is very important to us"

"Did you know that, some questions can be answered online, check out our website at (company's site).com"

  • Ah man, listening to this makes me want to dig out that old cd and play again.

  • @markthewhalekiller As your Financial Advisor, I recommend that you lease out the excessive recreational installations you purchased because by the end of Q2, you are looking at a 8,525 simoleon deficit(year-to-date). Raising taxes is also out of the question because the stock market did not average as high as it did. The last thing you want is people's homes being foreclosed, businesses closing, and industries shutting down. Blah blah blah keep making money blah blah get up into the black...

  • love this jazz tune :D

  • 3:13

how can u get the highways like that??

  • I loved the SIm city 4 music, and now i discovered that the 3000 music is even better! =D

  • To that zero who voted this down, obviously SimCity isn't for you ;)

  • In the backseat of a Mercedes illuminated by times square light :)

  • HOW DO U MAKE BRIDGE? AGGGH IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!

  • @gingerpower9613 keep moving the road over a body of water until the path is blue. The terrain on both sides needs to be level and unobstructed by buildings. Hope that answers your question.

  • @gingerpower9613 Google it, instead of posting useless comments on Youtube.

  • @gingerpower9613 Make sure the terrain is at the same level on each side.

  • ahh remeber all those nights playing simcity, when you should have been doing your homework???!?!

  • @hep2jive Yes!! :D

  • The music reminds me of some of Freddie Hubbard's recordings.

  • really loved this game. if only they'd continue to make simcity games that arent society gay

  • i miss this game :(

i wish theres a free download

  • awesome

  • NOSTALGIA!!!! I remember playing this awesome game when i was a litle kid

  • @RnBeautyJazzflower Totally No Stress :P

  • Aaah... The Good Ol' SimCity days

  • IMO SimCity 3000 has got the best in-game music (even better than that of SimCity 4)

  • Now THIS is the business, very jazzy and chilled, thanks for posting.

  • In search of lost time...

  • NOSTALGIA

  • @redundant1180 WORD!!!

  • I remember sitting in the car once when I was a kid. The radio was on and some strange, but familiar music was playing. I asked my mother what kind of music it was, and she said it was jazz. And I remember saying that I thought it sounded just like the music of Sim City 3000.

  • This song brings me good memories...

I used to play Sim CIty 3000 for hours. I wish I had the time to play videogames these days.

    By the way, jazz rules.

  • any way I can just get this music into my simcity 4 game?

  • Ah, good memories, I found the cd yesterday and installed it. Surprisingly it works! So im back to building horrible cities like i did when i was little. haha

  • i wish that maxis would make a fully 3d simcity like societies but it would be like sc4 or sc3k

  • @vuorte

nice idea. maybe email them and get a bunch of ppl to back u up!

  • one thing tht comes to mind when listening to the music is "progressive jazz"

  • @quidnick

Seems like pretty straight forward jazz to me. No odd time signature or no odd harmonies. Just super cool straight ahead jazz. ;)

  • i'm amazed at how rich and wonderfull the Sim City franchise has become over the generations.

i'm a die hard fan of the original Sim City, even though i mostly played SC3k along with my dad who introduced me to that game. Ever since, i've been hooked on building cities... go figure why though XD

i'll have to try to find an online copy of the game so that i can play it again :)

  • My grandmother gave me this game. I love it so much!

  • we thank you for making this video!! simply awesome...

  • good old times, i try utorrent but still no success

  • Where u harvest tiberium in this game?

  • @ Jazz

It zens you out until you get a blare from the bank or a natural disaster happens lol.

  • why dont they make games like this anymore

  • I've been looking for a port that I can buy or download to my Macbook, but so far no luck.

  • i havent played that game in so long i forgot how nice everything looks.gotta buy this again ^^

  • En español no aparecen esos edificios tan elegantes. ¿Qué versión es esta?

  • this song is better than the game it's self.

  • I listen to this soundtrack almost every day on the subway. This is my favorite song!

  • Hee hee, that's weirdly so appropriate to listen to in a big city.

Somehow, this just doesn't work when I'm sitting 15 feet above rows of corn in the cab of a combine harvester. Someone needs to write jazz that fits the rural lifestyle...

  • i think its called 'country' lol

  • LoL. Good point. I don't think there is any rural jazz, though.

I noticed that a lot of SC3 music is Jazz and seems very New-Yorkesque

  • Comment removed

  • It is considered smooth jazz?

  • this is the kinda music i love relaxing and drinking mixed drinks to. wish i can find a lounge around where i live that has music like this...

  • Yeah man. We need to open up a place called the "Sim City 3 Lounge" that plays the SC3 Jazz. lol...

  • i really liked the buildings on this version best....plus the unlimited with asian and european type building themes!!!.. music good too....

  • DAMN I love this!

Is there anywhere I can download the music?

  • I wanna know to, I just love this music! Brings back memories asw...

  • which band?

  • I LOVE this Music - Got them all on my iPod :)

  • how did you them into your iPod? :o

  • hey yall this is my fav. Song in this version but i also like floating population in Sim City 4 great song but what type of jazz would htis be does anyone know?

  • and Lisa Simpson on sax

  • how to make brigde

  • Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful jazz. So unlike the music of today and 100% more creative and original, much like the entire Sims franchise.

  • i can nvr get a succesfuly city goin in this game i always end up in dept

  • don't expand too fast; start with low density zoning, and lower the budget for crime and fire. Buses/ trains aren't important in the beginning, and industry jobs should give some cash.

What i found is that if you leave a city alone, the income rate gradually increases, especially as land value increases and bigger buildings move in..

  • ok what u do.... 2 tiles of road, 1 zone from residential, comm., and industrial

then u make ur power plant, id set it close disregarding lung problems lol, then a park or 2, water tower, connect to a neighbor. NO SCHOOLS OR POPO STATIONS OR FIRE ETC ETC... (debt attractors) start in the corner and work ur way out. constanly look at the budjet, if ur CURRENT FUNDS are smaller than ur YEAR END FUNDS, then ur moneys growing.... plz be patient.... money building is slow and painful hope i help

  • How do you make farms?

  • ok when u have a dicent size town, go out maybe a fourth of the way out and zone large areas of light industrial, large squarses, space them apart, they need power, road and water (optianol) then you hear the sounds....MOOOO!!!!!! lol

  • You should just go burn. Thanks for giving us a bad name.

  • ok? im trying to help ya

  • I grew up with a dad who was really into rock music of the 60's and 50's so I pretty much didn't know another type of music existed. Then I started playing Simcity and The Sims and I heard the wonderful music known as jazz. And I have to thank Maxis for introducing me to such music.

  • Where from can I download these great musics of simcity?

    Anyone have a rapidshare adress?

    Thanx...!

  • go to the simcity 4 website and check out COOL STUFF. or search on google simcity 3000 soundtrack

  • I search at ''cool stuff'' but files opened with quicktime format... not downloadable!

Firstly must I be member of the site?

  • right click on them before you open them then save as.

  • nice vid

  • best simcity!

  • Where did the whirlpools come from?

  • このゲームはこれらすばらしい曲に出会えたことが

    何よりもよかったなぁ。もちろんゲームも面白かったけどw

  • I want this game again...TORRENT TIME!

  • Just bye it

  • Lol, so you don't have even $5?? :D lol

  • Already paid for it once, long ago. Besides, it's harder to find these older games for sale. Then if I somehow find a copy, I have to wait for them to post it to me. Nah, I'd rather just have it.

  • ah... oh well. Where is the good old patience today? :D :P Have a nice day

  • ah try Ebay ?

  • hell yes !

  • Sounds like it could be Miles Davis and John Coltrane. This is totally the kind of song they'd play. Great soundtrack.

  • i still have this game actually. it's just i couldn't find the installation code. but now i did. so i'm going to build a giant megalopolis that only has a 4x4 pond so i'll have plenty of room.

  • best soundtrack in any game ever

  • super classical!!

  • This song from the official soundtrack sounds slightly different. Some instruments are louder. I prefer the one playing in this video.
