jordan never really had to develop a kind shot that kobe did because back then zone defense wasn't as sophisticated as it is now, and he was more athletic than kobe so he was able to drive through the lane. That's why his shooting percentage was better. As for the 3 point contest, that doesn't mean anything to me or anybody else because kobe's strength is mid-range anyway and the 3 point contest is just for the fans.
