interesting video at least you are enjoying and putting back into the earth. I have two worm bins from old pickle barrels outside but have a place outside for it. Where did you get the worms from and are the red wigglers?
I get my worms for abt $23/lb (which included the shipping!) :} Unfortunately, because I was living in a pretty dry place this summer, my worms dried out & I lost the bin, so I started over this week.
I avoid putting color ink in the bedding... I have heard this is toxic unfortunately. So, I use black and white newspaper only. I am on the verge of harvest to see what's happening so I can start fresh for winter and place the bin indoors. Next time I am going to add a touch of straw for better air circulation. As far as prefered foods... I found that my worms love watermelon rinds.
Yeah, I have been overfeeding mine. I just split them up into two bins, adding a bunch more bedding. But since yours is not smelling, you aren't doing too bad. Mine wasn't smelling, then all of a sudden, I put in way too much food, and it stank until I split it and added the more bedding.
I bought some hydrated garden lime pellots for calcium and breeding, but I want to add it when I start a new bin. I heard that colored ink and bleached paper can make worms sick. I am no expert, but I need to optimize my bin because it isn't nearly as successful as it could be.
Thanks. Actually that is what I did. I have reconstructed the bins as well with a completely new bin design structure I call "the smoke stack". Four bins now, and yet to catch up on my videos though since I have located them outside under my sun deck. Fortunately my deck is 8 feet off the ground which has provided plenty of room. Shortly I hope to post a video and will most likely have a Blog entry even sooner showing them. Unique and work better so far than any bin I have seen or tried.
Great video! Maybe try reducing the height of the bin. Pure calcium also helps them multiply. Check out a video on my channel if your looking for ideas about sifting.
Slick paper should not be used.

Not a good idea to be putting papers that are bleached or with inks on the paper.

You can add to much food. Never to much bedding. My worms love all mellons. If you need to add more air pockets add some tolet paper rolls.

Your girl friends voice and intonation reminds me of Sarah Silverman for some reason.

you shouldn´t touch the worms with your hands, cos the oil isn´t good for their skin

You shouldn't use lime pellets, you're supposed to use powdered lime, the pellets will burn them.
