  • You’re a very good public speaker, keep up your good work my friend

  • I like how u made ur hair up. You r just fun to watch. ...bring your brush & forceps lol. oh... and you forgot to pack cookies, milk, candles, extra socks, change of underwear, & a toothbrush. J/K I am only teasing.

Whenever I visit the hives I bring only my hive tool. It's like my samurai sword. I even keep it sharpened on one end. I'll use a suit if its not ideal weather. If I have to catch a queen or a worker, my fingers are the most gentle tool. My pockets do the rest.

    and I don't smoke.

  • @Netnerp hahahaha thanks! Yes, I like to be prepared! You see, my hives are far away from my lab and I have to load my rickety little cart and go through old hallways and 2 cranky elevators, so I like to bring lots of stuff! I used to never wear a suit, but those days are over. I promised my advisor that I would wear a suit b/c I am developing strong skin reactions to stings. This is not that big of a deal until I get stung around the eye and I look like Quasimodo!

  • @urbangreenbee Oh that's like my brother. He got stung on the lip and 10 min later he looked like Doctor Zoidberg from Futurama. a few hours later he looked like Eugene Proctor from pure luck. I am glad not to have that problem though I hear it can always onset.

  • @fireflyfraz1 yeahhhhh, it is not a good look! and it lasts for days! I even get dizzy sometimes from it!

  • @Netnerp also, I generally don't wear gloves either, though I do sometimes. I agree, not wearing gloves helps more bees stay safe from being squished!

  • 5 fc*kers that can't handle the productivity.

  • @xOrhan1976 :)

  • How did the bees do over the summer? just watched your videos and thought it was great to see you were having fun doing it. Do you teach at the school and this is part of it

  • @lescalla thank you so much! The bees are happy, though everyone has varroa as expected:( No hive beetle on the roof, but we did have some in the observation hive, but they seem to have disappeared for now. I am preparing fondant for the girls this week, and maybe I should make a video about it! I am not an actual teacher, but I am the supervisor of the Bee Research lab at George Washington University and I mentor the incoming research students and teach them how to keep bees etc

  • @lescalla I also mentor some kids from Boystown and am trying to do more outreach and education. I will be visiting a local elementary school to teach some 3rd graders about bees and am working on a project to renovate some urban landscape plots to bolster pollinators... I am trying to get into youth education and outreach and inspire kids with science, but it is a slow process! Thanks so much for your support!

  • Couldn't help notice - you're pretty cute!

  • @kishka7 thanks :)

  • @CelebrateMediocrity I changed the title as you can see to reflect that I only talk about what I plan to do

  • you should have made your hair up before starting your video come again madam i did not get a thing

  • @klamatsi thanks, this is just a casual discussion on my plans

  • you should have made your hair up before starting your video

  • @klamatsi I just noticed that you made two comments about my hair, this video is an introduction of what I am going to work on, nothing more and nothing less. There is no need to get worked up about when I do my hair... Thanks for stopping by.
