Not to gloat but all them haters are just jealous because we're basically the most famous team in all of baseball, and we have had some of the most famous players in history like Mantle, Ruth, Dimaggio, Berra, Gehrig, and now Jeter. Friday (9-11, oddly enough) Derek becomes the all-time Yankee hits leader. Pretty frikkin' amazin' . One only has to say the names: Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle...just amazing for DJ to be at the top of that list. I feel so fortunate to have lived during this age, and having seen this club play baseball since 1956, my first year as a fan (I was 6). That was Mantle's Triple Crown year. I've seen the '61 team, many other great Yankee teams. Congrats, DJ!.
