I totally agree! There was a time when CNN gave us the news and not the fancy, name-driven shows that are on today. They have destroyed Headline News in the evenings. In fact, there is hardly a time of day on either network where just the news is reported. Now, they include interviews and debates. The old CNN and CNN2 were much more journalistic driven.
Hmm, I never would've thought they started out in a building that looked like a plantation.
Anyway, the only reason their "product" is so tainted today is because they gave in to the ratings that other stations get from opinion shows.
I just don't understand why people like Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs, Rachel Maddow, Sean Hannity, Keith Olbermann, and Bill O'Reilly can't all be put onto HLN, while the actual reporting stays on CNN.
Ah.. I hope the new CNN president fixes everything.
Fox News and MSNBC both started in 1996.
16 years after CNN started.
They are basically copycats started by billionaires.
Ted Turner had an actual dream.. Rupert Murdoch just paid cable providers money so their network could grow faster to compete with CNN.
Now they constantly bash, attack, and dumb down America.

CNN is to turn 30 June 1, 2010. I wonder what CNN's planned for the network's 30th anniversary.

Check out CNN International; they're still pretty good.

Very nice. I think CNN was once excellent but I cannot say that for the product they have today.
