I mean, granted, a LOT of Americans can't tell the difference between Irish and Scottish, but the difference between British and Irish/Scottish is really obvious.
@HoochieCoocher Actually Great Britain is composed of England, Scotland and Wales NOT Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

I don't like the way she changes accent to better fit the country she's staying in. She was "American" in the X-Files, but in her new low-budget British films, she's speaks with an upper-class "English" accent. She should just stick to one accent. Oh, and I really don't like her in general.
Okay, "Ihatescully", you're getting on my nerves. If you hate her so much, why are you watching all her vids? All of us are fans and none of us care about your opinions. Go watch some other videos and leave the actual fans alone.
Having just watched the Jay Leno clips, I am more than a little shocked at the dramatic change from american to english accent? She says she left england at 11, yet her accent seemingly returned at 33! What the fuck is she playing at???
You act as if accents are written in stone. Not at all. Accents are VERY flexible. One's paticular accent for a language can sometimes change in a matter of weeks or months, especially when in an environment filled with people who speak in a particular way.
That's because she doesn't live in the US anymore, I'm pretty sure she's been living back in London permanently since The X-Files ended.
Accents DO switch depending on what country you live in. I've seen it recently with an older Irish lady who, over the past 5 years, has completely lost her Irish accent after moving to the US. Your accent can change at any age.
Be all that as it may that movie is brilliant. Probably one of the best I've seen in a year.

I'm American, and I can tell the difference between British, Welsh, Irish and Scottish, but I have difficulty telling Irish from Scottish.

Er... Welsh and Scottish accents are both 'British'. I think you meant to say 'English' accent, which is what Gillian has here.
Britain is comprised of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The south of Ireland is a republic.

Thank you! At least I am not the only one rubbing my head, thinking "wtf?" She seems calmer in these interviews than the American ones.
