Our british troops in Iraq we are soo proud of, we know there are alot of gay millitary in our army and we are so proud of them they all do a great job. i am a stright guy who lives in the uk where gays can join the army and have partnerships .I have been to a partnership of one of my friends who happens to be in the army also there was a lot of soldiers with wives and girlfriends and they have no problems with gay soldiers and fighting side by side.Its just people like her who have a problem and should take a good long look at yourself .I am happy i live in a country that give equal rights.

For those who don't serve, unit cohesion is the most important attribute in the military. As soon as you start expressing your individuality during your enlistment/career the quicker you ruin your unit. We fight as one. The "don't ask, don't tell policy" worked, but no, politicians and nasty ass civilians think they know what workes in combat. Just because you have a voice in this country doesn't mean you should use it. Ignorance in America is killing us.

Since every form of sexual harassment breaks military conduct for which you can be kicked out, and there are gays and lesbians already serving that "everyone knows about"... why bother having a separate rule that lets anyone oust a serving member simply for something that is who they are rather than what they've done? For those who don't serve, unit cohesion is the most important attribute in the military. As soon as you start expressing your individuality during your enlistment/career the quicker you ruin your unit. We fight as one. The "don't ask, don't tell policy" worked, but no, politicians and nasty ass civilians think they know what workes in combat. Just because you have a voice in this country doesn't mean you should use it. Ignorance in America is killing us.

Since every form of sexual harassment breaks military conduct for which you can be kicked out, and there are gays and lesbians already serving that "everyone knows about"... why bother having a separate rule that lets anyone oust a serving member simply for something that is who they are rather than what they've done? I don't think they're saying "gays and lesbians can now openly sexually harass other soldiers" which is the spin that seems to be being taken.

I think the solution...is to require any individual serving in the military, to indeed be gay. A law should be enacted stating punishment for being caught "not acting gayly"....as grounds for immediate execution. I think our United States Soldiers should carry purses and double ended four foot dildos for protection. I think the double dongs should have infared capabilities as well. I believe that all U.S. soldiers should have painted toenails, and be able to choose their wig of choice!
