I co-slept with my 1st daughter till 18months then she went into a little toddler bed, it was super cute, pink with Dora on it, low to the ground with sides on it. She was really excited about it (probably because it was cute) and it made the transition fairly easy. I had to get her out of my bed before next baby came along! My 2nd daughter has just gone into it now and she also loves it! also easy to hop out and come back to mum when she needs to ;)
It's my opinion that sleeping in a crib is best for the child. I have known one two many kids who are too old to be sleeping in mommy and daddy's bed, but that's the only place they feel comfortable sleeping. My mom let me sleep in her bed until I was two years old, and sure enough, I never wanted to leave and I would cry until she would let me in her room, probably until I was 11 YEARS OLD. I became too attached and wished a million times she would've just put me in my own crib from the start.
if co-sleeping is done right... then its actually way better for them than just having them in the crib all night. its said to be great for their emotional development. i think co-sleeping is an amazing thing. =) it sucks that mine kind of weaned herself from my bed.. =( hahaha
I lay with my son every night till he falls to sleep. And then move him. The way I see it, I feel so safe sleeping next to my husband and I have a hard time sleeping when he's not here. Colin slept in a crib for a while but at some point he started getting really upset in his own bed. I've tried the whole cry it out and rocking but he gets to the point where he is like hyperventilating. While its not always convenient to lay with him while he goes to sleep why should i deny him that?
night. I think it is much more quiet without two people around him constantly turning, and especially for safety reasons I am totally pro. He has a great routine now, he loves his room and he is not dependent on me to fall asleep. That is kind of my reason why I think it is better to give them safety of a routine that works now, and later on.
Don't get me wrong if you co-sleep. :) It's just my opinion.
I think it's a good idea that you are wanting to get her to sleep in her own bed.
My sister in law's baby is two and it's an absolute pain to get her in another room. She has always slept in her parents' bed and now screams everything together if they even try to put her in a bed in their room. And I think it's had been their own problem created...
My son has slept in a little crib in our room from the beginning til 6 weeks, then I started to put him in his bed during the day and eventually-
On your next update will you talk more about breastfeeding jovi? How many breast feeds is she doing on average? Does she still nurse at all during the day? You're an inspiration, I really want to breastfeed my son past a year!
My son is the exact same age and we had a similar experience, started to get annoyed a bit with the nursing in the middle of the night. He's in his own crib now as of a few months ago, and I don't mind getting up nursing him in bed and putting him back now. It's definitely 100% better with him not smelling me, I totally get what you're saying.
hey how are you how's jovi doing miss you'll hope everythngs ok much love to you both

I think this should be 'bed sharing vs. crib'
It's co-sleeping if you're in the same room. So you can co-sleep with your baby in a crib.
Great topic and video =)
