  • how do they get the colton mined and out of that place?

  • those two kids walking in the beginning are ballers

  • dfladger we don't want your help

  • The US should intervene with our weapons systems we might be able to enforce some sort of peace, all it takes is for the UN to shoot the dogs when they strike.despite some liberal sentiments I believe a properly organized influx of US troops would be one of the greatest humanitarian missions endeavored. The western worlds indifference is far more destructive then any millitary campaign could be

  • You think liberials are against protecting civilians? Things are not that black and white my friend. I would say I am more liberal then anything esle, and I couldn't agree with you more.

  • the conflict in Congo is horrible. the government cannot take control though in part because of the size of the country.

  • hey i have to write an article for my school newspaper on the congo - if anyone could provide me with any information as to what been happening recently there it would be much appreciated! thanks!

  • the rebels need a taste of Naplam, show them what real war is about

  • world in conflict YAY

  • damn I wanna kill those fucking militia fucks!!

  • @termometen me too man i want the militia fucks dead too

  • I don´t like the way tha guy is touching the kid. the 3rd world always would have revolution

  • Fact is: the USA always picks its targets in its own favour!

  • because the Federal Government pounds bullshit lies into their people, so they will join them in "Their" fight for their intrests

  • @jordanpower111 much smarter way to fight. you don't get brownie points by losing with a bad strategy.

  • Gots to start with 1960--not even a mention of Lumumba or Mobuto----or Kabila. This guy ruined his own idea. Maybe it's all covered in the book. Probably not. It's pretty much a PBS clone.

  • The government troops are a bunch of pussies and need to grow some balls and protect their people because no one will do it for them.

  • thats why u need to use sense, defend ur self.

  • so now this is where NATO should acutally be going send troops there to kill all the rebels hell i would be the 1st one to volunteer if we went there

  • You don't win against rebels like that. Either destroy them with special forces or other rebels.

People there don't like NATO I think. So if you're going to send an army not NATO.

  • If they capture a large ammount of the rebels they could stack em up and when theyre like 500...they would kill them all on live TV to scare the remaining rebels!

  • in 1980, we sent the United States Air Force air calvalry, tactical "Delta force" group to Samolia. What happened... was we had our ass handed to us, thinking they were so special, elite group, was fucking murdered, even by civilians.

  • Yes USA got their asses handed to them but fighting whole cities isn't that easy.

And sending forces to congo will bring more order but defending the whole country is costly and I watched on news that the people of congo threw rocks at NATO APCs and Tanks.

But sending a force to restore some order and law and some to hunt down the rebels would be nice though

  • You are a moron. America wasn't involved in a war in Somalia in 1980. In 1992 they sent about 25, 000 troops over of course a very small amount of this force were Delta. You don't seem to know what Delta is outside of the movie Black Hawk Down.

America pulled out after they finished the job they came to do, with 43 of their own killed. Farrah Aidid was killed and the country was beyond helping without further casualties so they pulled out.

    Get your facts straight.

  • Well Bound4War go sign up, UN is actually battling rebels as I type.

  • oh really?? last time we had to do shit like that, we went to samalia, we sent even our Delta forces, and they had their ass beet so hard we will never go back there... NEVER

  • LULZ not this time biatch stfu

  • @Bound4War There's alot of places that need help, not just the Congo.

  • wheres the full video

  • Someone needs to drop the US Rangers into this place to stop whats happening.

  • NO FOREIGN INTERVENTION!!!! The gov. troops have to grow some balls!!!

  • the translation with the child with burns is wrong

  • Yeah. I seriously doubt if the testimonies were genuine one. Trust me, these very poor villages can say anything you want to hear just for 2 or3 dollars. And many of them think that they will get something when they see that a white man/woman is involved. it is so unfortunate but, that is true. Without really verifying the stories, i can not confirm that they are accurate. and the wrong translation shows other motivations behind the documentary itself. I ve seen many of them

  • thats not what i ment, i ment that if you understand french u realize that what the kid says is so mutch sader then the translation

  • I can hear what these people were saying, the stories are horrible, that's my region and some changes are needed but, also, i noticed that the translations (subtitles) were not accurate. They deformed few things that the last woman was saying. By mistake???

  • Maybe they're trying to protect her? Also they have a limit in the amount of words the write so sometimes they don't exactly show everything she saying. War is always wrong...

  • it could be more understanding if it is a summary of what she was saying but they gave other meaning to the words that she used. i saw that in many places in this documentary. From what she said We can not say that, the second rape was commited by Laurent Nkunda's rebels but that what the subtittles are saying. she said "during Nkunda's war" She didn t say who was it or to which group they belonged. Also, she said that they tied her Husband with a wire, but subtittles say they tied him to a tree.

  • Another point is that, these stories from these women, might as well not be true. Sorry to tell you that guys but, alot of things are going on here. Some of the stories are true and really horrible but, others are not. Many people have interest in stories like this. There are many ppl who make up stories. You just have to hear stories that African illegal immigrants give to European immigration officers to be counted as refugees. Most of them are pure lies although they convice officers.

  • Response to your first comment: Also they have a limit in the amount of words the write so sometimes they don't exactly show everything she saying. Also because of their younger audience might be see this(public tv has a certain amount of censorship).

  • better video than the LRA one.

  • they are people too, why the hell is anyone helping you, your obviously

  • I agree. DTG you are a very low person.

  • who decided to make America police of the world. Fuck em, we got our own problems at home, let them kill each other.

  • By your comment I bet you would leave your best friend to die just so you could save your own ass...

  • probably.

Look, I care more about my countrymen then losers across the sea. Let the world burn as America rises higher.

  • What the hell man!? I'm an American living in another country and let me tell you America isn't that independent...It's a super power trying to help others but you have your opinion and I have mine...Let's agree to disagree! :D

  • yes, exactly. We're getting sucked into other's wars.

  • True...like Iraq...I mean ok so we managed to remove a dictator but found no WMD(Weapons of Mass Destruction)...Why are we still there!?Peace keepers 6 years and 5.000 dead later ...Mission Accomplished my ass!! What the hell is Bush thinking!?

  • he isn't thinking, he's only a puppet.

  • Correction: Trained Monkey.

  • KS missed the crucial point: Western powers are vying for the Congo's resources. The EU nations France, Belgium, etc., America, South Africa, all have rebel allies that they use against the others. In fact America has been fomenting conflict through its Uganda/Rwanda axis. That axis has been arming rebels in Congo since the 1990s. KS missed all of that.

  • The goal of this documentary is to document the human impact of the conflicts, not to get into the political aspects of it.
