This time have the boys go to Australia where they are on vacation after winning then they find themselves in Ferngully where they see a tree and some demon is tearing it down as Hexxus wants to take over Sydney as Crysta has grown to human size to help Peter who loves her to battle the spirit.

To those who don't understand why Hexus can return more "powerful"... His pollution form was only taken after being released from his prison and became apart of the machine.

Hexus is "the spirit of destruction", that's why he chose to feed off the destructive machine the humans had built, taking a pollution based form.

He never needed the machine/pollution, he just liked it.

@femoman he comes back as a badass skeleton because that was his original form before he was fed poison by the humans. once that supply of poison ended, he was forced back. if you'll notice in the beginning story the fairy godmother (w/e) mentions that he came deep from the earth. hence the fiery inside he has in his skeleton form. i believe his original form is composed of rock, sulfur, and magma. which is the original destruction of the rainforest (before we came along) via volcanos.

@chronicsonic87 for an answer basically the guys pollution given form so when the machine's turned off hence no more smoke = no more pollution then he can't live since he is pollution itself also the reason he gets stronger is cause he goes into the "heart" of the machine where all the smoke, oil and other bits of waste are that's how that part works at least that what i'm getting from this

When I was a kid, I went to a museum exhibit about pollution. They had made a shooting game where you are fighting against an embodiement of pollution, looked a lot like Hexxus. Wish I could figure out what that exhibit was called, made a huge impact on me as a kid because I had seen this movie first then was basically living out the fantasy of fighting Hexxus myself. lol Good memories.
