I fail lockpicking the strongbox and therefore the mission failed. Now I am at the 'Taking care of buisness' quest, and need to talk to Brynjolf at the 'Ragged Flaggon'. But somehow he is wearing his Thieves armor and is stil standing at the stand in Riften, and is not waiting for me at the inn. Does anyone else have this problem or does anyone know how to fix it? And I hope it gets patched!

@theelitemihi I had the same problem. You must go back to the quest where you have to steal and place the ring in the Dunner's pocket, and only tell Brynjolf to start the distraction, when there are a lot of people in the market. (The elf must be there as well.) Let Brynjolf talk a little and put the ring in the guy's pocket after he sat down. It may have no connection at all but when i did this it worked. :P

You dont have to smash the urn, just go up to him and ask him for the money, he gives it to you and tells you not to worry.

As you may know, Bryjoln doesn't follow you to the Raggon Flaggon.However, I figured out a very simple and easy way to get passed this problem and therefore allowing you to join the thieves guild. I found out about the bug for this quest

On the PC, use this fix with the console. This will remove bugged script from all involved NPCs: clearquestaliases TG00SP On the PC, go to the Ragged Flagon, open the console, summon Brynjolf to you with player.placeatme 0001B07D

I found the clearquestaliases TG00SP to work best for me

theres only 2 factions where you have to pick one or the other, the stormcloaks and the imperials, every other faction doesn't care, you can join and be a member of all of them at the same time.
